3 tacos and ceviche. It was very nice but beef taco was broken as it is very juicy, just have a beef one first. Ceviche was very flavoury and awesome harmony with citrus. Highly recommend!!
Amazing Vibe & decor, food so yummy, would highly recommend the fish & prawn Tacos. Ashley, our server was friendly & super attentive, even when it got busy, she never forgot about us- such a star! Highly recommended & we will be back many more times in the future. The only negative would be the music, non genetic but main issue is the volume is so high, that we can't hear each other speak.
Service was outstanding. We were asked if we needed more drinks and they were brought to us without a long wait. Staff were friendly and informative with ordering food from the island bar next door. Food was excellent. Our table ordered tacos, pizza, wings and burgers. We didn't have to wait long either. Maybe 20 mins which I thought was reasonable as it was very busy on both sides. Atmosphere was great. You could pick to sit in either a booth, bar leaner, couches or outside tables. Bathrooms were clean and easy to find. Not suitable for children however the Island bar next door is fully decked out for families and large groups as ruby's is a smaller space. Menu prices were reasonable aswell and the drinks were real, not watered down/cheap booze. Although there is plenty of parking, it does pack out so pays to car share to save any hassle.
The only authentic Mexican food I’ve found so far in the Tauranga area, and the only place I’ll go for it now that El Cartel closed in Te Puke. Delicious food and really great service! Offers tacos, quesadillas, corn chips and ceviche. You probably need 3 tacos to have enough for dinner. A bit confusing because this used to be part of The Island and then for a while you could order food from here at the Island but now it’s its own place. The google description also makes no sense so ignore that.
Where else in Tauranga can you get garden like atmosphere, great Mexican food, craft beer, and old tunes. When it's summer it's now our spot during the warm sunny days. Used to be The Island but has split a bit. After excellent tacos we went next door to get some pit smoked BBQ. Staff are so nice and crazy great!
