We did the mum/daughter girl POWA day. What an amazing, supportive, challenging and fun day. The staff were super supportive and encouraging and we loved the activities. This was our second time as we loved it so much last year. We're looking forward to next year's event already. Thanks team.
My daughter and I recently attended the Girl Powa Adventure Day and had the best day! The weather was perfect and Pirongia Lodge is a stunning location. The activities were so much fun and the time allowed for each was just right. We got to try things we otherwise wouldn't, and I found out that my daughter is amazing at rock climbing! The group sizes were ideal and we appreciated that we were in a group with teens of a similar age. Our group had really bonded by the end of the day. It was so neat to see one of the teens in our group who was afraid of heights overcome her fears. Once she had done the zipline once there was no stopping her! We can't wait for the next event.
Just spent the weekend at Pirongia Lodge, as part of the first NZ "Spelling to Communicate" family camp. Kate and her team were fantastic, being flexible with activity timings to allow as many of the spellers to participate as possible. They were so helpful and enthusiastic, enabling the kids to be successful at the various activities including climbing and zip-lining. All of the spellers and their families are already talking about having another camp at the Lodge next year.
Kate and her amazing staff made our weekend at Pirongia Lodge one to remember for the rest of our lives. Her and her teams professionalism was second to none and we feel we have made friends for life. We enjoyed a spelling to communicate camp at the Lodge and First step put on all the activities so our kids could accomplish what some would think impossible. Thanks so much again Kate and team for being the awesome people you are.

This is a fantastic day out for female teenagers and their mums who are keen to experience some outdoors adventure in a safe environment. The staff are wonderful, extremely knowledgable, enthusiastic and supportive. We had a fabulous day and highly recommend.
Have been to 2 womens adventure days run by first step outdoors and have had an amazing time! They are well organised, friendly, knowledgeable and always up for a good laugh. Cannot recommend them enough!
Just had the most amazing day out with the 'First Step Outdoors' crew, thankyou team!! Everything was so professionally run - excellent safety, great food & coffee, super friendly staff & nice to meet some other adventurous women. Was awesome to see so many women coming along for the day on their own - everyone got to know each other & got along so well.
I joined the High Ropes Women’s only adventure day and absolutely loved the experience. The staff was great and really well trained. Very well organised event. I look forward to join them on more adventures in future
