Popped in for a coffee and treat with family yesterday for Matariki. The lady behind the counter was friendly and efficient. Poor thing though one of the stores next door set off a false fire alarm for apparently the third day in a row so we all had to evacuate! She handled it very well though so we didn't mind and once everyone was allowed back inside they got back on top of things quickly. So A+ for their ability to handle unfavourable situations. Coffees and cabinet food were good. Good place to take your family for a coffee.

I have been here four or five times. Each time, either no one is serving at the counter, or you have to wait a really long time even just to order, and even longer for the coffee. Today we waited (with no one behind the counter), second in queue. Gave up after five minutes as we hadn't even ordered yet (still second in queue when we left). Went across the road and were served straight away, with coffees ready in two minutes. Additionally, they seem foul about people cashing in things they advertise (birthday promotions etc). Yes, some coffee places are busy, and yes, sometimes you have to wait - we definitely expect that, want to like the place, and frequently have hope, hence the additional visits. But when staff seem either completely invisible, or completely unable to take an uncomplex order within five minutes, we lack confidence in giving them business. Last time we visited, they got my simple order wrong. It's too hard here. Because I haven't had a good experience here yet, after four or five atttempts, I personally wouldn't bother going back, when their competitors can easily come to the party. We are super easy to please, but Muffin Break Wigram frequently fails at the basics.

I went there for the first time, with my children, last year and it was OK for me. Some sandwiches came really cold, portions were small so those were a couple of reasons why I didn't come back. But, after a year I decided to give them a second chance, so I went there last week but this time I think it was worse. I felt really disappointed when I order an avocado and chicken sandwich and I got a sandwich with really few peaces of chicken and few slices of avocado. Although I ask the waitress about this and she changed the first sandwich for a second one, it was the same story. So sad... This place looks and feels like a lovely spot to go but unfortunately the most important, food, is not as good as it looks.

One star loss because of bad customer service skill: To the white young server: You may not happy to your job, you didn’t list what type of egg on your menu, I politely asked you and you was impatient. Meanwhile your smile is on when white customers coming in. Another one star loss: Been in NZ 12years this is the most “Beautiful” flatwhite I ever had, by all mean you may a Pablo Picasso big fans? Another star loss: How come you serve the flat white in a mug? I can’t remember perhaps I ordered a coffee soup? You just simply spoiled my morning. Conclusion: please avoid this cafe if you’re non white people.

Popped in for the $10 eggs benedict special (with drink purchase). Gluten free option for the English muffin was awesome for my friend. Great coffee and have alternate milk options of coconut or almond. Fast service and pleasant staff. Love the comfy chairs by the window. The muffins are always fresh and have gluten free and dairy free options available daily.
