A Fantastic jeweller....I tell everyone I know to go see him. It's best taking your jewellery to be fixed by the person you leave it with rather than using a jeweler who sends your item away to another place....
I was left a sapphire and diamond ring by my mother. When a stone became loose I took it to an Auckland manufacturing jeweller and asked for a quote to repair. They contacted me to say all the claws needed renewing and the cost would be $800.00. Since I felt that having two daughters I was really just a custodian of the ring it seemed it was my duty to keep it in good repair. I agreed to the work being done. I was mortified when it was returned. The claws were large and obvious and the workmanship shoddy. I didn't want the ring to return to them. Within a short time one of the large claws caught in something and once again the safety of the stones was compromised. I took the ring to John Jardine at Creative Jewellery to see whether he could repair the damage. He took the job on and when the ring was returned to me I hardly recognised it. The setting has been replaced and even the platinum shank has been put back as new. The light can now be seen through the sapphire and the ring is an absolute joy. The cost was much less than the earlier work which had been done. Driving home after picking up the ring I found myself in tears. I had felt responsible for the damage which had been caused to the ring and this had salved my conscience. I cannot recommend Creative Jewellery highly enough. You can rest assured that if you entrust your jewellery to them you will be dealing with the experts.
