The building is designed like a Hobbit gatehouse and it’s honestly one of the cutest architecture I’ve seen on this trip. I bought Hobbit stamps for my collection in the gift shop. Definitely a must stop if you are here.
Excellent shop for everything kiwiana to take back home or gift to an overseas visitor. The bus to hobbit town boards just outside the centre along with having a lively place to eat under the trees. Close to mcds too
A very attractive place. Nearby there are cafes, parking space, and public toilets.
Kathy and her associate were super helpful. Had Many suggestions of what we could do in the area geared to our interests. Recognized our Canadian accents right away also..lol
The ladies at Mata Mata i-site have been absolutely incredible during my stay in town! Super nice and helpful, you made all the difference making my life a lot easier. A special thank you to Gay ❤️

We skipped Hobbiton, but enjoyed the visitor's center and shoppe in Matamata.
