Fantastic pizza and good service - we were very late and they accomodated us so we were very grateful. Will visit again next time we are in Rotorua.

About Us
On the plate at Leonardo's Italian Food & Wine, the idea is classic fishβandβchips and well judged. Ribs and steaks arrive seasoned and tender. Value feels fair for the quality. Sweets lean classic and not overly rich. Portions suit sharing without tipping heavy.

Calling all gluten-free peeps, run, donβt walk. This pizza and pasta situation was chefβs kiss. The waiter recommended we share two pizzas: the Meat Lovers and the Tuscan Chicken. And honestly? Thank you, sir, for choosing violence in the best way possible. Both were unreal β full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and most importantlyβ¦ did NOT taste gluten-free (the highest compliment). No cardboard bases. No sadness. Just proper Italian comfort food doing what itβs meant to do. Service was also top-tier, friendly, knowledgeable, and clearly knows the menu inside out.

Excellent Italian food. Great service. Nice outdoor seating. Bruschetta was really good. We tried 3 different pasta, 2 veggie and 1 with chicken. All 3 were amazing. Quick service so did not have to wait long. Food was rightly spicy but using spices not the red heat. Can handle a couple or large groups. Definitely recommend whether you are traveling or looking for a bite on the town

This place is a bit overrated, we decided to go there based on the previous positive (majority) reviews. We ordered a pizza, burgers and Cannelloni. The pizza base looks like the ones from the frozen pre-made in the supermarket/Gilmours, the taste is pretty average and toppings are okay. The chicken patty from the burger also reminds me of the Top Hat range frozen products. The beef and the lamb patties of the burgers are definitely in-house made but they caused the buns to be very soggy when you are eating it -due to excessive fat/juice within the patties. The braised lamb shoulder from Cannelloni taste very similar to the lamb burger patty, assuming they have used the same thing in both dishes? Overall not much taste to it and most dishes are pretty plain. The services and the atmosphere are great 5/5! The food definitely needs improvement or is this place just overhyped?!

New Zealand vacation day 3 - went down to Eatery Street to look for a place to have dinner. My sons wanted to try Italian. Place was busy but they had room for us inside. Service was a bit slow but food was good. Especially the mussels. Atmosphere was lively and staff very friendly.

Really nice place with a great selection of Italian food, friendly helpful staff and decent beer. Between us we had the Lobster and Prawn Ravioli, Seafood chowder, Prawn Risotto chips and Garlic bread. All were very nice and filling. Desserts were also good.

We showed up without reservation at 6:45 pm. Gentleman working front handled things well. He explained we could get a table but may be 45 to 50 minutes before our food would come. That was fine with us and we enjoyed a glass of wine and ordered bruschetta. The bruschetta was a mix or tomato and olive and we would have preferred it to be one or the other. Gnocchi was good and the lamb was delicious. I would eat that lamb anytime. Staff was all hard working and seemed to work as a team. Good experience
