Such a great restaurant! I have no idea why the rating is so low — the flavors are just right for Chinese taste buds.
I have been to this restaurant in Hamilton some years ago and upon finding there was one in Rotorua it was a must visit dinner stop during our trip. Having lived in China and knowing the tastes I was surprised at some low review scores which was surprising as the food is excellent and are authentic mainland Chinese dishes from Sichuan. If you are expecting Cantonese style Chinese dishes catering to western tastes you may be disappointed. But if you are looking for authentic food from China you will love it. I will come back again and again given the chance
Came in for a dinner in the middle of winter. To be honest the food was not good. Not very fresh with lots of starch. The only taste was spicy. Service was good, toilet was clean. The rest we visited in Hamilton was way better. We won’t be back at all. I’m sorry but it was not worth the trip.
Went in without expectations and was left completely satisfied. The food here tastes amazing and the prices are not bad. Staff were also very friendly and everything was served extremely quickly and efficiently. The place is also clean. Highly recommend the dumplings (but everything else tasted just as good).
A personal favourite visit. Regularly order pork dumplings Sichuan style, eggplant, mapo tofu, kung pao chicken and the massive fish fillet soup with bean sprouts.
Wife loves the Sichuan dishes so we always stopped by in Hamilton on the way to AKL and back. Finding the same restaurant in Rotorua was a treat, and got a chance to try this unique beer which was oddly great! Worth trying the beer so ask the charismatic but very kind boss man for it.
We ordered the Kungpao chicken and lamb and beef stir fried rice noodles. Both dishes were large and delicious. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and were all over getting our order and tea for the table. Would highly recommend to anyone In Rotarua.
