The chips we brought were ok. The service was very slow considering how few people were there. I didn't find the service very good,only adequate, not very friendly. There is good parking and a couple of picnic table to use over the road.
Great fish n chips, always busy calling ahead helps.
Unfortunately given the wrong order, I understand mistakes happen but we don't live close and were rang to say come back and change the package. In the mean time, our order was cold, as it had been waiting for such a long time. The lady we dealt with was rude and demanding. Really disappointing.
This place is an absolute disgrace, It needs to be visited by the health department not to mention $4.50 for one scoop of chips which wasn’t even a standard scoop and wouldn’t feed one person. The fish tasted like it had been defrosted in the microwave, you could see that it was pre-frozen possibly battered while still frozen chips were burnt, looked like the oil hadn’t been changed for a long time. It isn’t hard to cook fish and chips properly.
Unfortunately not the best food experience.fish bites where very tough with the gut lining still attached.the muscles still having the hair attached,flowery glug and Chewy batter Pretty poor for what you pay unfortunately
First time been there lovely hosts delicious food will definitely get a vege meal we had 2 fish and half scoop 3 mussels and a crab stick
The Rolleston Food Bar has made really nice fish & chips over the last couple of weeks. We had family visit from Australia recently & they really enjoyed the fish & chips from here. We used to go to Stonebrook Fish & Chips shop but we're now changing over to the Rolleston Food Bar because it's improved a lot & is much cheaper overall.
Got fish and chips nuggets and a burger for family lunch. Was delicious - the fish was nice and thick and moist - great batter and the chips were fabulous - really hot - crunchy on the outside and fluffy in the middle. The couple working there were so nice - friendly and helpful. Nice clean premises - plenty of parking 10/10!!
Just removed original review from 9 months ago. Bought fish n chips here roughly twice a month. Quality is inconsistent. Every meal has something missing which is annoying when you get home and someone misses out on their order. Really disappointed.
Hm.... The cooking oil is maybe 6 months old and the actual fish is thinner than the bank card that I used to pay for it, being wrapped around a crumb that's thicker than my palm to make the overall thing looks decent sized. This shop is highly recommend if you enjoy thick crumbs with microscopic fish fried with thousand-year-old oil.
