My experience left me feeling misled. What was communicated upfront did not match the outcome, and this significantly undermined my trust. The owner was very pushy during discussions, and the interaction felt driven by money rather than fairness or professionalism. I would not deal with this business again.
One of the worst dental practices. Many dentists seem motivated by greed, but this practice stands out as particularly egregious. The staff are rude, greedy, and unprofessional. They act as though any funds approved through Work and Income (WINZ) quotes belong to them. Driven by greed, they repeatedly increase charges, issuing quote after quote, which ultimately led to the loss of two of my teeth. When I informed them that I did not want to proceed with certain dental repairs, they became angry. Several years ago, I visited a dentist regarding a tooth with a small black spot. I requested a minor filling to address it, as such spots are common and noticeable upon close inspection. However, when I declined to have the small spot re-drilled and refilled at Dental Care on Barrington, the dentist became visibly angry.
It was the most gentle dental experience I've ever had! Sherin was incredibly professional and made me feel at ease throughout the entire process. She clearly explained everything before the procedure and also provided detailed post-extraction care instructions, which I really appreciated. The pricing was very reasonable too. Thank you so much! Dental Care on Barrington is a welcoming and caring practice. This starts with Odette (Practice Co-ordinator) at the front desk. Michelle (Dentist) did an amazing job in saving a tooth coupled with Mayu (Dental Assistant) who worked superbly with the dentist as a team. I can strongly recommend this practice for its care, professional attitude and competitive rates.
Wonderful dental centre. All of the staff are amazing and friendly. Sonja is probably the best dentist I've had. Highly recommend this place.
I usually choose a new place based on Google reviews. Had a filling fall out so needed to be seen relatively quickly and other top rated places didn't have availability and new enough to Christchurch so hadn't been to a Dentist here yet. Got really lucky with a cancellation at Dentalcare Barrington so they saw me the same day. Chris and the receptionist were very friendly and helpful. Chris was very easy to talk to and took the time to go through future options. I don't normally have a pleasant experience at a Dentist :P They deserve many more 5 stars reviews
I have been going to both the dentist (Chris) and hygienist (Lisa) for over five years and they are terrific. Very good at explaining what's happening and creating a relaxed atmosphere. Receptionists are so friendly and welcoming. Well priced. I thoroughly recommend DentleCare on Barrington.
By far the best dentist I've ever been to. I've never thought I could look forward to going to the dentist but everyone there is so lovely and the place itself feels more like a home than a clinic. Wonderful experience every time. Highly recommended.
I am one of the original patients from when they opened 16 years ago. as I was in the market for a new dentist. so just called in on my way home as they were refurbishing the practice . What a good choice that was. if one adheres to Chris's advice and has regular check ups it is cost effective (took me a while to learn that!). A very personable experience having treatment, and being able to get in for an emergency and not wait is such a blessing. Good pricing and value for money. Chris always costs things out so there are never any shocks at the end of the treatment. Dental Care on Barrington do value repeat business and looks after their customers. Well worth a try if one is shopping for a good dentist. Lyne Cameron
