Very comfortable rooms with ample parking. The staff were very courteous and assisted with our booking. The complex is very close to a major shopping centre with plenty of meal options available. Very pleasant nights sleep.
Absolutely fantastic motel but the male owner turned our visit sour When we went to book into the motel for a wedding a couple of months ago he was lovely. We explained at the time that 2 adults would be staying but we would have a child with us to get ready for the wedding but she wouldn’t be there for the night When we arrived we explained this again to his wife. We then went up to our room (which was supposed to be on the ground floor due to an elderly guest but ended up on the 2nd level) As soon as we arrived we needed the bathroom and found the toilet roll holder on the floor, we used the bathroom and then informed him straightaway. He came to fix it and repeatedly insinuated that we had pulled it off as it had been on 30 minutes earlier when he cleaned the room. We repeatedly told him we hadn’t but he said we had as the folded V was gone, yes as we needed the bathroom. He then made a smart comment as he left down the stairs clearly thinking we couldn’t hear him that “there’s only meant to be 2 guests anyway”
Perfect place to stay at the heart of Christchurch. Cheryl and Jeff made sure that all the rooms are being taken cared of. Always clean, towels are changed daily.sparkling clean and homey.
The place was tidy and well kept. My room was clean and it was quiet despite being close to a busy road. The bed was very comfortable, good value for the price
My partner, Helen, and I stayed at Denton Park Motel for 18 days in June 2025. Helen has spinal issues and found the beds very comfortable, the rooms are clean, cosy and warm, even in the middle of winter (we're from Australia). Despite being on the main road the room was well insulated from sound - we didn't even hear other guests leaving. The owners, Cheryl and Jeff were friendly, helpful and very accommodating - even loaning Helen a personal blanket of Cheryl's to take on an overnight trip to Hanmer Springs. Nothing was too much trouble. We have no complaints and would highly recommend staying here if you're wanting to be in the Hornby area. Thank you both again for the hospitality - we'll be staying here again in the future. Glenn and Helen.
Thank you so much! I stayed here last year, booked very late after jetstar canceled my flight home to Dunedin (first of many flights I had canceled by jetstar that week, but at least I was in NZ) The staff were so welcoming! I stayed in a beautiful ground floor room, had a lovely relaxing bath, and slept so well on the comfortable bed! Didn't hear a sound! Walked to the mall in the morning, and the one of the staff offered me a ride to the airport I think she could tell I had been through a lot over the last few days. I forgot to write a review until now! But haven't forgotten my experience.
A really great place to stay, will be staying here again next time I am in Christchurch.Very clean rooms, large comfortable bed, plunger coffee, tones of room. And the managers are genuinely kind people.
Lovely couple run this, incredibly friendly and helpful. stayed for 4 nights, comfortable beds, spacious bathroom, shower was wonderful. Did laundry one day and the owner was kind enough to hang my clothes on the line to dry while I was out all day. Adorable place to stay, would highly recommend and would definitely return.
This is probably one of my favourite places I've stayed! It was 10/10 clean, tidy and well maintained. THE COMFIEST SLEEP IVE EVER HAD! Need to find out what kind of pillows those are, so I can buy some for myself! I'm so impressed, the owners were so friendly and welcoming. It made my stay in Christchurch top notch. Thanks so much. I will definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
