El Quincho - Argentine BBQ leans into a coffee‑and‑cabinet approach without the fuss. A riverside backdrop rounds out the stop. Ribs and steaks arrive seasoned and tender. Serve sizes show solid value. Portions make for an easy, filling stop.
People have different opinions about the $45 platter. I’m sharing its picture, you can decide for yourselves. Halloumi salad on the other hand was marvellous. I’m on a keto diet, so it worked well for me.
Got a great meal, the milanesa napolitana was delicious and well cooked! Got served by a lovely young man called Adolfo, who gave us great recommendations on the menu and improved our experience dramatically! Me and my husband thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience here and would highly reccomend!
I had lunch here on a Tuesday so it was a little on the quieter side but that’s ok. Ordered the rump cap with some chips and a glass of the Malbec. The steak was mainly beautifully cooked if not a little on the tough side around the fatty edge. But enough of the good stuff along with the chips and decent wine to really enjoy it. The dips that come with were really good too. Cheers.
Had early lunch here yesterday, the whole Riverside Market is a delight, so many good food options. We were in the mood for steak and this pace did not disappoint. Our server and chef were both from Argentina which really adds to the authenticity, they were professional and super friendly too. We had a rib eye, which was cooked and seasoned to perfection. And beef empanadas which were also lovely. A bit of Malbec too to seal the deal, a very happy lunch. A Christchurch must if you’re in the mood for steak.
Great little place in Riverside market that you can quite easily walk past - but it is a good place to go for lunch or dinner. As I am fussy- I feel the food is a bit hit and miss based on the chef ... but still good food
One of the best Argentine BBQ and we have tried many. Recommend the platter to experience a selection of their finest offerings, don't forget to add the beef rib. Amazing hospitality and service. Hope to get in one last time before we head back to Auckland. Thank you El Quincho!
Amazing for large group. We went with a sport team of 20. Pre-ordered. Large tables outside under cover. Warm heaters. Great food. Great service.
This Argentinian grill restaurant is excellent. You must have the Rib Eye steak (medium rare). Perfectly cooked, juicy and tender. Highly recommended, definitely rates a “Must Come Back” from me.
Awesome food in the heart of Riverside Market in Christchurch. The beers are perfect & watching the chefs prepare / deliver such a good serving in the open kitchen is the ultimate food experience. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
