   I had a builder gel manicure done. Sadly, I didn't read any reviews before I came.... And only started researching afterwards, otherwise I would have never let the nail technician cut my cuticles. I didn't know, but this is a no no. Unnecessary. The gel applied was far too thick, made my nails look very unnatural - it took another technician two weeks later three attempts to remove it. Also, I've now got a nail fungus which I've never ever had in my 54 years before. Tools didn't seem to be sanitized between clients. Won't be coming back here.

   I had another great experience at ProfessioNAIL The Palms. This time Vivian did my nails. This quiet but highly skilled young woman did a brilliant work on my nails. ProfessioNAIL The Palms is now my top favourite nail salon. I highly recommend it.

   I got these glow in dark nails done 2 weeks ago after one week the nail paint start coming on its own and again they fixed it and now again its coming off on its own. The paint is not good as gel paint never comes off. Its very frustrating to go again and again get fixed and nail person also gave negative attitude as it was my fault that its coming off

   I paid $45 to get a gel nail manicure just 10 days ago and every single nail is already either half chipped or completely bare! My nail polish started chipping within 48 hours. Absolutely peeved to waste my money, and annoyed my manicure didn't last for the important meeting I had within several days of getting them done. Don't go there - they're clearly using cheap products.

   As a drop in I asked a time as I could come back, was told to sit now, was having tip and gel off and gel on, a very sour girl attended me and said the foil needed to be on 15mins, 30 mins later I had to ask if someone was going to come back, more foils, 25mins later I had to ask again to be told they were at lunch, 55mins in there and still did not have my tips off, girl now very grumpy with me, my whole experience lasted 1.35mins the new colour not what I’d asked for but had had enough and just agreed, that was two days ago, my nails look terrible, three already broken and reluctant to go back, worst salon experience ever

   Went into their salon on 15th July for a manicure. $56 for a gel removal and redone. This would have been the 2nd time I have got my nails done while pregnant and I'm currently 34 weeks so it's not a weekly occurrence, I had the other set applied on natural nails 4 weeks previously. Anyway, the removal was okay, she was using the tool to take off the polish. When I washed my hands my nails and cuticles felt funny, maybe stinging a little. She carried on with the polish. Well the 1st coat was so blotchy but I thought it'll be fixed with the 2nd one, well the 2nd one was put on so thick in places but I seemed like she fixed it when the top coat went on. She finished up and my nails felt so thin, like the bent when I picked up anything. 1 broke this evening, i needed to cut all then length off my nails! My natural nails are so thin. I can't even get them fixed because to take the polish off. I'll never be back. Don't go here of you want to keep your natural nails!!

   Positives : Quick service, place was quiet Negatives: Had acrylics and gel polish applied. They look unnatural and way too thick. My husband said I look like I have hobbit fingers. Am a nail biter and have had fake nails on and off for 15 years and this is the worst looking set of nails ever. Will go to Northlands next time.

   I've been to various ProfessioNail across NZ and generally had a good experience but unfortunately not at The Palms. My main concerns were that I was cut twice while filing and the gel wasn't given the full amount of time to cure (which I believe is the reason it's chipped and has not lasted the distance as they usually do). It was a very busy afternoon and the lady next to me who was part way through having one of her nails fixed then had to wait as the person moved on to start mine. The nail hygiene procedures weren't quite up to scratch either. I appreciate that this is a busy salon in a mall however I've typically had great experiences at other branches.
