   Enrolling my son in this Kindy was the best decision I’ve made for him. We moved from another centre (after visiting a few before that) and from the moment we walked in to Selwyn St Kindy we were made to feel so welcome; all staff immediately engaged with me, my son and my younger daughter too. Communication has been excellent, both in person and through the online platform, we always know what’s happening day to day. The kindy has a great large outdoor space and a beautiful and engaging indoor space. The teachers go above and beyond, embracing the strengths of families and celebrating the diverse community. What I love most is the genuine love and energy for the children, they truly put kids first and always take the time to comfort and listen to the children and their needs. They do it all, so many wonderful opportunities for the kids, they seek out interesting learning opportunities They sing with the kids, bake, use lots of te reo, actively teach about managing emotions, I really cannot fault them. It’s the kindy I wish all kids could have!

   A lovely kindergarten, with a big outdoor space with a huge tree, and a bright indoor space. Teachers are knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They work hard to make sure every family feels welcome. My children are the second generation to go to this kindy!

   When looking for a place to send my daughter to I had been to several before going to kidsfirst selwyn st and this is the one I chose as I didn't have to make an appointment I could just go when I wonted to witch was not the case with others I had attended. The head teacher Gemma introduced herself to me and showed us around. There was so much for my little girl to do and it had the comfort of home being able to be yourself have structure in a loving cearing environment. My daughter is in her last term before heading off to school next year she has been with kidsfirst since she was 2yrs old. In that time she has grown within herself confidence made amazing friendships that are truly beautiful to watch. She is so knowledgeable about her surroundings in this world from the environment to what is good for it, how to be and keep herself safe. other cultures and their ways of celebrating times of the year. Kidsfirst selwyn street is such a loving cearing family orientated environment, I love the friendships I have built with each and every one of the teachers they have all played a significant role in my daughters life and I will miss this place when my daughter moves onto school. I recommend kidsfirst to anyone as its all in the name KIDSFIRST and that rings true every day

   My Son attended Selwyn Street Kids first Kindy from when he was 3 until he was 5 ½. We are so pleased that we chose Selwyn Street for him. From the moment we first walked in to visit the staff were friendly, engaged and obviously cared about the children. I didn't look at anymore centres once I had visited, and enrolled him straight away. He struggled at the beginning because he had always been with me, and the teachers were so encouraging, kind and flexible. They allowed him to follow routines in the morning that worked for him (e.g. waving at the gate until I drove off) then engaged him in play. Throughout his time at kindy he became so confident and comfortable there. The team were happy to adjust his hours and days as required and made it really easy for us. We had some medical issues with my son and they always dealt with them brilliantly and followed advice from specialists. As an early childhood teacher I was very picky about where I sent my son, and Selwyn Street was absolutely perfect. The team are just wonderful, the outdoor space is lovely and I am counting down the days until my baby can go too!
