    Sam was lovely to deal with. My issues with sofas in $3-4k range in christchurch is limited fabric options. Freedom is no different in this respect unfortunately.

    Went to Hunter Furniture looking for a new sofa, very disappointed with the range & quality on offer. Hunter used to be my go-to for new furniture, but the quality is now obviously poor & cheaply made. Also very inflexible with fabric selections, used to be able to order in any fabric or leather, but now only a very limited range available for each sofa. Staff not sure on measurements, when I looked on the ticket on the sofa I was told the measurements were incorrect. Obvious issues with quality as another customer was returning recently purchased dining chairs that had broken.

    The service in store was great when my partner and I were looking at buying a new sofa. We purchased July 2023 with the expected arrival time being October 2023. We purchased a leather modular couch and when it arrived we got three brown and two black modular sections. The whole thing is meant to be brown - not alternating colours. The delivery guys were are confused as I was and I contacted hunter home. We did get some compensation and told a whole new sofa will need to be made. We were told arrival would be March. We are now in March I had to send two emails to get an update before someone replied and then was told earliest would be May. The communication over emails has been terrible and I am always having to chase up with follow up emails. By the time May comes around it will be almost a year since we first purchased the sofa… very disappointing.

    Disappointed is an understatement. Purchased a great coffee table 6 weeks ago. As expected, was delivered on Tuesday. What was unexpected was it was flat packed. This wasn’t a $200 table from IKEA, this was $1350 from Hunters. When we rung to query this we were told it was $85 to have it assembled, but we only had to pay the first $50. A quick check on their T’s &C’s to see β€œitems will arrive fully assembled unless otherwise requested”. So that eventually got sorted and the guys came around today to assemble. They couldn’t. Not their fault, but there were a couple of major flaws in production that made it impossible. So on the phone again. The shop assistant on the phone was unwilling to provide help and hung up when we asked for her name. (It’s always easier to deal with the same person). Not ideal. So when the regional manager finally called back we were greeted with a flurry of excuses and backhanded apologies. A regional manager should be wanting to do best by the customer, not make excuses for why the company she represents has let us down on many levels. I would just recommend that staff at all levels receive extra training as to how to best solve any problems. I hope this can eventually be fixed, but I’m not holding my breath. This is a company that used to pride itself on customer service. To see it having gotten this bad is a real shame.

    Hunter Home Christchurch - we were delighted with the quality of your service. Casey helped us with choosing new furniture for our holiday home and co-ordinated colours with cushions etc. The end product looks stunning! Customer care - Penny was also great keeping us informed of delivery etc. Then we went back into store and met Jamie who was great helping us choose rugs and plants to finish off the space.     Great range of furniture. Fantastic service from Jamie. He went above and beyond to ensure that we had the right sofas and colour matched accessories.

    We came to Hunters 2 weeks ago, looking for a lounge suite for our new home. We talked to Jamie first and he took time showing us various suites. When we found one we liked, but thought it might be too big for our space, Casey helped us by scanning our floor plan to her program, so she was able to show us how the different suites would fit in our space which was so helpful to us and we we really appreciated the time she took with us. Even though we didn't end up buying a suite from Hunters, we could not fault the knowledgeable, friendly service we received from Jamie and Casey, they really made us feel welcome and answered all our questions, so we left Hunters after a very positive experience. We would not hesitate to recommend them to our friends and family. Gloria & Kevin Roulston
