Regards "Sam Wilsons" poor experience with Machinery House. We have three Sam Wilsons who have shopped with us in the past. None of them have spent a great deal of money with us and they all live away from Christchurch. None of our staff recall dealing with tooling for "this" person and when I discussed this with George Henry, none of them recall "this" person either. I have asked Google to take this review down, but they don't seem interested so I feel obliged to respond as a reviewer myself. We offer a very good service to anyone how comes in our doors and we do not dis respect any other business whilst conducting our business. We have staff members with a great deal of actual experience of 'doing' engineering and other aspects of machining etc. We are not able to help everyone that comes in the door but we will do our best to point you in the right direction to get you underway. Been a long time customer of Machinery House, and have spent thousands with them but I will be taking my business elsewhere. The past few occasions I've been in I've been met with rude staff who have have been completely unhelpful; When asked for specific tooling I was met by staff and the manager who couldn't care less about my needs and provided zero customer service. I ended up spending my money at George Henry, I'd recommend you do too... Won't be returning.
Great place to find great deals. The knowledge from some of the team is astounding compared with the amount of products that they sell. I put a lot of trust that they recommend the right thing, and so far, have not been let down.

Great shop, has lots of stuff although sometimes I find one a few products they could do with a better selection, such as reamers. I've also found that on some products they are very pricey compared to what other have to offer, especially import from China.

Terrible experience!!! Purchased online - paid by bank deposit- then received email saying item is ready for Click and Collect. when I arrived at the Click and Collect counter at Machinery House the staff were unaware of my purchase and directed me to pick up the paperwork inside the shop, where they advised me (after calling Auckland) that the order was a " pay on pickup". This is when the temperature shot up!! I disputed this as I had paid by direct deposit, had an email from MH advising my purchase was ready to pick up and was not prepared for MH to make their internal process problems my problem! They then said payment wouldn't be cleared until tomorrow. I said I wasn't going anywhere, swore at them, was then ordered to leave the shop at which point I refused to leave. I had to resolve the matter by showing them the transaction in my bank account ( this is me solving their problem). I did receive, and returned, an apology. This is not the first experience in recent times of online transactions going haywire. Businesses should not assume the customer is wrong at the outset and certainly not accuse me of talking "at" them when that is exactly what they were doing to me!!! Clearly, many businesses need to tidy up their internal processes and this is one of them.
Always a pleasure dealing with these guys! They've got a great range of machinery at very competitive prices! They also know their stuff, free advice is good advice!!
