   I recommend this garage. I called the garage to get a quote for several repairs on my van. I was seen very quickly. The mechanic assessed the major repairs at no extra cost. He took the time to explain the repairs to me, even though I asked a lot of questions because my English isn't perfect. The garage didn't try to rip me off and was very transparent. I would definitely go back there.

   Just relaying this story to friends where I took my van here a few years ago: The crew weren't keen to tell me exactly what they'd done, though they'd charged me over a thou to do it, with the mechanic telling me this was a small bill compared to their usual bills! Insisted and eventually shown the work. Few weeks later was in Wellington and took it to a reputed mechanic as was driving sluggishly. 'Put your foot down' he said. 'I AM putting my foot down' I replied as I drove at 80kph. He looked underneath afterwards and exclaimed 'That's what's wrong! Some idiot's put a cable tie on the accelerator cable!' Same removed and van drove normally. Ahh, just a coincidence! Tui 'Yeah Right!

   Cranford Street Garage is a place that cares, and this is coming from someone with anxiety. I e-mail, and ask not to be called, and they are happy to respect that, and answer by e-mail. I had options for a service, and was explained the difference. Once the service was done, and an air filter was needed, there was no having to get it done right away, at enormous cost, no, it was explained to me what was needed, the cost, if I wanted it done then or at another stage, and how long it would be. There is no push, no demand for getting things done, just calmly explained, and that is what is needed, for someone like me with anxiety, and new to owning a car.

   I have just changed garages for our two cars and motorbike and I found Cranford garage a pleasure to deal with I dealt with Fred and Vikki and they were very professional and knowledgeable with a sense of humor. When something does bad I'll definitely be back for more good service

   Very Friendly crew gave me honest feedback about my vehicle which had a radiator and loop belt issue. In the end decided not to get the repairs done as i did feel the price was too much for the vehicle however still received top tier service and gave me a loaner car to get too my meeting.

   Cheap, uncomplicated and trustworthy. As a female foreigner whose car was losing water I paid a fair price for getting a leak fixed. Would recommend. They also give you free quotes on any issue you might have. Service is friendly and fast, they repaired my car as I brought it, I waited around 2h without an appointment.

   I've been going there for my warrant for a few years now, but used to take my car to another garage for service (a mate of a mate), but after my last service was butchered I decided to just get all my car's work done at Cranford. Reason why? Because they are transparent about everything they do: the prices, the repairs that need to be done, the whys, the hows... they'll even show you what's defective on your car and explain what's going on in details. They're the most trustworthy garage I can recommend in Christchurch. This year my car needed new rotors, a new battery, new wipers... all done, quickly and at a good price. And service is always nice too: polite, smiling, engaging! The best!
