Kirsten came out to see our pet calf, after hours, out of kindness. Her treatment is outstanding and the bill was surprisingly low. I would not go to competitor's who seem to be all about money over animal welfare. (Speaking from experience). Kaimai vets are based in tauranga area too. Simply the best!

Found staff extremely rude, cold, unhelpful and unwelcoming…. Especially the old lady on reception! Who first hung up on me when I tried to confirm their location. After google maps took me to the wrong location (possibly their old location) and I was completely lost, as I had never been to Matamata town before. What a lovely first impression and way to treat your clients! The minute i stepped for into the vets doors, I was rudely told (by the old lady on reception) in front of a handful of other customers “to go wait outside”, “cause your dog is too excited” (all tail wags and body wiggles), as he loves the vets. Even despite the fact my dog was on a short lead and wearing a muzzle. When I was finally told I could come in, they checked his sore hip but didn’t do his vaccinations or check out his eye. So I took my dog back inside the vets and reminded them that he was booked in for his vaccinations. They reluctantly agreed to do his shots outside in the carpark, but did not bother to look at his eye. No surprise, two days later I had to bring him back to the vets again. Because the poor little guy actually had something lodged in his eyeball, that they never even bothered to check or investigate. I really feel this should have been looked into right away! Further to this, even after two follow up calls I have still not been able to obtain a simple tax invoice with clinical notes. Meaning I’m not able to claim on my pet insurance. Very disappointing! I also got the feeling by the way I was treated there, that if I had of drove my dog into the vets in one of my other newer model BMW’s or Mercedes vehicles, instead of my older more dog friendly interior Toyota. And was dressed up like some sort of clown, with a ton of make up caked on my face and all my gold on show (like others parading around in there like they owned the place), I’d say my experience probably would have been quite different. But that’s ok. Given the atmosphere, attitude and vibes (and basically the overall experience at this point) you’re doing me a favour. As it’s a very easy decision not to return here. Ps. I was not entirely surprised to see they also charged me for shots their vet failed to administer properly (maybe due to lack of experience or confidence with dogs, resulting in a ruff failed attempt. Making my dog yelp and the shot ending up all over this back instead). I understand mistakes happen, but also felt charging me for it was of poor taste. Again very disappointing. I’ve actually since asked for my dogs file to be transferred back to his original vets 2 hours away. As I’d rather not support the way they choose to go about treating their clients and doing business.

Our beautiful girl Maddie (a long time patient) had dental surgery yesterday. Once again and as always the professionalism and care given was greatly appreciated. Thank you to her vet and all the staff. We're so grateful for your wonderful service. Brent and Karen Stock

Since 2012, until now. From Te Aroha to Matamata, we've been using the Kaimai's services for our pets (former Landmark vet). We are always happy and they have the most competitive cost compare to othe vet services.

They have been great as our nearly 12 year old doggie had to be taken down to vets due to a small stroke.
