The food was good and the service was excellent. The staff were very honest and kind. When my son forgot his sunglasses, a male staff member looked around the busy food court, found us, and returned the glasses. I was truly impressed with their warm hospitality.

Nice sushi for the price. If you come during peak hours the sushi is very fresh.

Popped in for the novelty of the ole sushi train, but found surprisingly few plates on the belt for 7pm on a Friday night. Perhaps 12 options, salmon, tuna, shrimp, edamame, mayo heavy rolls. All the plates are $5.30 which is interesting. I tried a few, found them mediocre at best, and opted for a bowl of the spicy Udon seafood soup for $23 NZD. This dish was an improvement, not very spicy, (this is New Zealand after all) but served hot and with the typical frozen seafood bag of 3 large shrimp, 2 mussels, some kami crab sticks, squid and cabbage. A decent portion for the price, and filling. Water is self serve from a nearby tap, odd. Service was harried but pleasant. The soup was acceptable but not great, and with so many other enticing options within lunging distance at the market, I doubt I'd ride the train again.

Riverside Market's go-to for friendly service and standout Japanese food Hikari Sushi Train at Riverside Market offers a diverse menu of sushi and hot dishes. I tried several items, but the temaki (hand rolls) are a definite must-try. The spicy seafood noodles had a nice kick but were a little too spicy for my preference. The tonkotsu ramen was also yum. Despite being a busy spot, the staff were friendly and efficient, adding to a pleasant dining experience.

Great selection of sushi at a reasonable flat price! Delicious and good portion too. Attentive and helpful server, we appreciate the good service especially dining out with young children.

A fun spot with a wonderful atmosphere in Riverside Market. Sushi came out consistently and efficiently on the train. We came at night on a weekday so it wasn’t crowded and the music in the background was relaxing. We were able to special order sushi that we didn’t see on the belt.

The young lady who served me today was so lovely! Best customer service I’ve had in a while. The food is constant and you pay after you’ve finished eating. The chicken and takoyaki I had was really good. 5.30 a plate, good price for the convenience. They also box for up for takeout if you’re not wanting to eat in.

We're tried these sushi today for the first time today and were left simply delighted, simply best pieces we've had in quite a while! Amazing experience, will definitely come back with the child next time.
