A great dinning experience. Friendly staff who were very attentive to providing a fabulous evening. The food was delicious & highly recommend the seafood boil up and the oysters. We will be back again.

Had an early dinner here with no reservations and staff was happy to find us a table, we were dining with our four month old baby that needed to be in her pram and the staff was accommodating to find a table that suited. We had food from the happy hour menu including oysters, calamari, chips and pork roll. The only dish we wouldn’t order again was the pork roll as it was on the dry side. Would visit again!

Had such a great experience here! The aged filet steak was definitely my favorite – super tender and cooked perfectly. The chocolate dessert after the meal was also amazing, rich but not too sweet. On top of that, the staff were really friendly and attentive, which made the whole meal even better. Totally worth a 5-star review!

Absolutely Outstanding Dry-aged Steak Experience! We were blown away by the 45-day dry-aged scotch fillet , it was incredibly tender with a rich, buttery flavor that reminded us of creamy milk. We loved it so much that we ordered a second one right after finishing the first! The quality was just on another level. Clara, our server, was absolutely fantastic. She was warm, professional, and attentive , always refilling our water without us even needing to ask. She patiently answered all our questions about the dry-aged process and the kingfish on the menu, and made great recommendations with genuine enthusiasm. This is hands-down our favourite restaurant in Tauranga so far. We’re extremely satisfied with the food and the service. Can’t wait to come back!

Honestly, just *chefs kiss*. Fantastic food and ambience. We had the octopus, croquette, calamari, bbq fish, oysters, and lamb rump. So good, literally dreaming of having them again. Absolutely stunning food!!!!!!

How lucky are we to have a restaurant like Saltwater on our doorstep. The venue is fabulous as are all the staff who work there. The food is next level- perfectly cooked with beautiful flavours which are sensational. Cannot speak highly enough of this place.

I was so excited to try Saltwater, that I made it a date night and allowed the Favourite Husband out too. He’s a lucky man. We were disappointed that there were no oysters, but totally accept the wild weather has impacted food across the board. I was more disappointed when my gin was paraded past me and given to someone on another table. But it was promptly remedied and when a new one did arrive, it was exceptionally good. The sashimi entree was excellent. Beautiful sashimi grade selection and worth the $45 price tag to share. The Thai crab cakes were bland but ok. Mains were depressing. I always scan the restaurant menu in advance and had already settled on the flounder. But it was sadly over cooked, salty and would have been swimming in butter were it not for the fact it was deceased. The Favourite Husband had the burger which was greasy and not particularly flavoursome. The atmosphere was good, the music was too, the service was outstanding but the food let it down. I’d return for an afternoon gin and tonic, listen to the sounds and watch the world go by, but there are better places to eat.

We had a great lunch here. It was busy and atmosphere was great with some funky classic house beats playing. The place was full despite the miserable weather outside. It has a great fit out - open plan kitchen with chefs making food in front of you and they even had a girl making great cocktails to order. Colouring options for rhe lottle pnes.Def recommend it!
