Our Tauranga Mini Owners Club function at Hotel Armitage was outstanding. Jeffrey and his team were incredibly accommodating, with excellent attention to detail including the room setup and decorations, even handling last-minute requests with ease. The food and atmosphere were perfect, making it the best Club Christmas party we’ve attended. We look forward to working with the hotel again in the future!

We spend one night at this place as a part of EventsHub road tour across New Zealand. The hotel was good for its price. The reception specialist explained everything nice and clear, so, we had no concerns during our stay. If you are going to book a rood there, it is cheaper to add a breakfast for the next morning before 10pm, we didn't know this.

In the 25 years I've lived in New Zealand, I've never experienced hotel service like yesterday. When I requested a room change because the room was a little uncomfortable, the hotel manager was happy to accommodate me. They replaced our room and also split the single bad and adjusted it to the twin bed. All the staff were friendly, the staff serving breakfast in the restaurant were very friendly, and the food was delicious. Also, when I slept at the hotel last night, it was so comfortable and quiet. Thank you to all the hotel staff.

Good location, nice staff. Let down by the rooms. It's a while since I've stayed in a hotel where you could clearly hear next door having a conversation/using the loo/boiling the kettle/snoring/having a quickie/watching TV - it was like they were in with us. They weren't particularly loud neighbours, it was just that there's clearly no soundproofing at all. The windows are single glazed, and in the rooms overlooking the road, the traffic is loud. As are the air-con units and kitchen extractors down below the windows. And there's a gap of at least an inch under the room door, so everyone walking past down the hallway adds to the din. So, earplus all weekend to get any sleep. The bathroom - why situate the toilet so you have to sit at an angle on it because there's actually no room to fit your knees in between the toilet and the bath? And if you are going to fit it like that, at least make sure the shower screen that your guests end up looking at is clean. This one wasn't, it was really grubby round the bottom hinge and seal. And while the flush button worked, it was hard to press. The bed was reasonably comfortable, and the hotel decor was quite nice. I wouldn't stay again though.

Worst customer service I’ve ever had! My boyfriend and I paid to stay just a night here. It was around 10/10:30pm and we were talking in our rooms with our iPhone playing music. A woman named May knocked on the door to tell us to β€œkeep the noise down”. My boyfriend was very reasonable at the time of talking to her but did question what she meant of β€œkeeping it down” as we were not yelling nor playing music off a loud speaker? If you’re paying for a room you should be able to talk in there. Her energy at the door was not pleasant. We passed the front desk a short while after to speak to someone about the situation. The other woman at the desk was more hospitable but felt as though she didn’t know how to deal with situation. That woman called May SHOULD NOT WORK IN HOSPITALITY. She was arguing with us at the front and being bluntly rude. Told us you can’t talk in your room after 11:30pm. Sorry what? Never heard that rule in a hotel before. I’ve worked in hospitality my whole life and was shocked at May’s attitude. I have never been treated or spoken to like that by a staff member before.

I stayed here for one night on a trip from Australia. The room was great, the only downside was the lift was not working and I didn't find out until I arrived. The service was amazing - I left my iPad in the room after I stayed, and the communication about the iPad being found, and then the help I received to pack the iPad up and send it back to Australia with DHL (using my account) was absolutely amazing. Highly recommend staying if you are in town and I will always make sure I am staying here anytime I am in town.

Not quite faded glory but not quite what I'd expected. The room was nice but the hotel itself is a little run down and that put me off the food (I ate out). A handy location for the price so I guess there has to be a trade-off.

The room service dinner was terrible. Apparently it was prepared in the restaurant and then gets heated up and served. It looked unappetising and the veges looked like frozen veges. We complained so the didn't charge us. The toilet blocked up while we were they're. The said there wasn't anyone able to do any maintenence on Sundays. They offered to move is. I asked for a plunger. He found one and brought it to our room. This fixed it till the morning. When we mentioned it to the front desk upon departure there was no record of it.

While the pool & exterior need a good paint, the exterior painting was well underway and made a big difference. The hall carpet and walls also looked overdue for a tidy up. The rooms were all but spotless, with only one small area needing some love. Second time staying at this location, and I look forward to the next.
