There are so many cute baby birds including ducklings, baby Australian coot, geese, and pukeko. There are lots of open spaces, benchs, picnic tables and bins around the domain. There is a lovely path where people run around. The lake is not swimable because of legacy contaminants.
Enjoyable walk around the lake, not too much foot traffic. Track looks maintained and taken care of. Stopped to feed the ducks but a Tuna come up to eat instead :)
The children's playground I'd fabulous and offers children a safe place to play and exercise. There is a closed off area for smaller children to safely play.
A sunny spring day at the end of September. Beautiful place to chill and have lunch with the kids. Awesome play areas for toddlers thru to bigger kids. Ice cream shop and cafe. Public toilets. Free parking.
Bird life, clean paths, range of shaded and non shaded areas. Flat walking track, perfect for any fitness level. Great place to watch the sunset
Hamilton Lake is our go to. We go there for a walk, to relax, watch the dogs pass by, the ducks and geese. Nice place for a picnic. Playground for kids. The rose garden. Cafes and ice-cream. Beautiful lake. even when you are in the middle of the city, you feel close to nature.
Lake Rotoroa situated in the heart of Hamilton. A good place to admire the beauty of nature. Plenty of parking away from the playground. The playground is one of the best I've ever seen & the walk around the lake is a lovely experience with various things to see along the way. overall great place to spend time with family and friends...
One of the things I appreciated most about Hamilton Lake Domain was how easy it was to access. The park is located just a few minutes' drive from Hamilton's city center, making it a convenient spot to visit if you're staying in the area. In addition to the walking and cycling tracks, the park also features a stunning rose garden, which is especially beautiful during the spring and summer months. If you're looking for something a little more adventurous, there are plenty of options to choose from. There's also a large adventure playground for kids, with slides, swings, and climbing frames. Overall, I would highly recommend Hamilton Lake Domain to anyone visiting the Hamilton area. The park is a wonderful place to spend a few hours, whether you're looking to get some exercise, relax and soak up the scenery, or enjoy some quality time with family and friends.
Plenty of parking away from the playground but not much activities around the lake except to walk. Nicer views as you head up the hill towards the Domain but it’s pretty hidden. Pity it’s not concreted in between the pillars.
