   Groovy has a super cute atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for soaking up the sun or chilling inside. However, while the setting is appealing, the coffee is not. Enhancing the barista skills and improving the coffee could significantly elevate the overall experience. With these tweaks, this café could be a real gem.

   Visited here for brunch. It was our first time here and you could tell that the cafe is very popular. It was very busy and I could see some waiting for table to become free. We ordered a Longboarder, wedges, and a Turkish sandwich. Longboarder was our favorite - the dish goes well with the cafe’s vibe. Wedges and sandwich were okay. Coffee was served well after the food which was a shame. The cafe was very busy at the time of visit and only one barista was rostered. So perhaps, drink orders were delayed. The cafe has unique interior, well resembling the passion for surfing in Mount Maunganui. Just be mindful that it can get quite busy. This place is worth visiting and would definitely recommend trying Longboarder.

   Great Breakfast Spot in Mount Maunganui! Really happy we found Groovy while we were visiting the Mount. The food is fresh, hearty and very delicious. Cappuccinos are great. Happy and friendly atmosphere. You should definitely come over and check it out!

   We come to Catchy Cafe most mornings for coffee and the delicious date scones. We do not have a number as Cathy knows us. We love the coffee and the personal service. Some mornings there can be a big group of us.

   This is a wonderful cafe. I go there a couple of times a week. They make the loveliest coffee and give you a chocolate fish to enjoy with it. The place is thriving especially when the cruise shops come in. I am yet to have lunch there. I’ll update you when I do. Go and enjoy. 26/03/23 Well had lunch at Catchy. We had BLT’s. One with chips and one with salad. That way we both got chips and salad. The meals were very well presented and tasted lovely. Highly recommended. 02/04/23 Back again for lunch. Smashed avocado & bacon and bacon & eggs. Just lovely.

   A visit to Catchy Cafe has become a morning ritual whenever we’re in town. We’ve been coming here for well over a year. The coffee is consistently excellent & even comes with a little chocolate fish! Super friendly staff no matter how busy they are & whether you’re just stopping in for a quick coffee or a leisurely meal. There’s a cabinet full of house made goodies to tempt you but my favourite menu item is their brioche French toast. The combination of bacon, banana & berries complemented by a dollop of mascarpone is delicious & always beautifully plated. Their avocado smash with poached eggs is a close runner up. If you’re lucky you’ll also get to meet Tom, the neighbourhood cat who sometimes hangs around the cruise deck.
