I used Midas Tauranga to get my car serviced back in February. They did a just fine job of their general service that they do. However they lied through their teeth when they said that I needed new rotors and new rear tyres. The tyres were only 20,000km on them and looked brand new. I've waited to leave this review to give them the benefit of my doubt. However, the guy said he would not drive on those tires. Its been 7 months and nothing has exploded like they said. I told them they were full of it then and I can confirm that they are full of it now. They even said that they would let NZTA know I was driving around on bad tyres. Guess what, passes my warrent with no worries. If you want a general service. They are fine. However when they say you need more done. Deny any further work. Get a buddy to look at it first if you don't know much about cars. They guys are immoral and cash grabbers
Was very lucky to get our van checked over for a service from Midas in Tauranga, unfortunately didn’t get the name of the team that dealt with us and the van, but they clearly explained everything, gave great advice and were very friendly and understanding throughout. After getting a very high quote from another garage, they advised on what did need fixing at a good fair price. Would highly recommend, especially those who also may be travelling that want to be treated fairly.
Amazing service!!! These guys went above and beyond to help me out after a weird breakdown that confused everyone. A part of the engine had shattered and these guys had it up on the hoist and pulled apart before breakfast, found the problem and then searched for the parts to get her fixed. They even fixed a few other niggly issues while they had it and kept me updated with what was happening. Amazing to be back on the road with the engine sounding better than ever !!!!
Found my new mechanic. They managed to find out what was wrong with my car and provide a solution. Comfortable waiting room. Conveniently open on Saturdays.

Decided to have a change from my usual mechanic and head to Midas to get a new WOF. Absolutely stoked with the customer service provided by the friendly staff, quick and efficient work done by the mechanic and left feeling valued & looked after. Will be back next time without a doubt. Highly recommend!
I recently had my car serviced at your workshop and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service I received. From the moment I walked in, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and kept me informed throughout the entire process. The work done on my car was top-notch and I appreciate the attention to detail that was given. I also appreciated the honesty of the staff, who provided me with options for the repairs that needed to be done, without trying to pressure me into unnecessary work. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the service I received and will definitely be recommending your workshop to my friends and family. Thank you for making my experience such a positive one
I had to get a headlight replaced on my Honda Civic and this company lied to me to say the bulbs were “special halogen” bulbs and made me pay over $50. I’ve had the same service done elsewhere and been charged $5, not to mention that you can buy the bulbs yourself from Repco and Supercheap Auto for around $5 and put them in yourself in under two minutes. It’s awful that you take advantage of your customers. You should review your business practices and what you think is acceptable.
The front desk guy was nice and understanding of my situation I went to get a leak checked out in my car but they damaged my bumper. They also did not install the engine cover back on as it was on my passenger seat when I picked up my car. After going back and forward, they agreed to fix that damage for free. I also asked for another service but when I went to pay, they didn't charge me for the service valued around $70 for the mucking around. Just shows that mistakes are fine if you fix them.
