A very nice, clean, homey hostel. About an hour from Arthur’s Pass, it’s a great spot to stay to explore the area.
If you after the real Youth Hostel experience this is the place. Loved staying there, very homely and really retro.
What an incredibly warm and welcoming place to stay. The fire crackling in the dining room was a great comfort and the hosts are extremely helpful. I loved it here - could have stayed forever!

One of the best YHAs I have ever been. Excellent hospitality. All you need to do is to secure the booking. Then I got pick up from airport, had two days fun at the ski field, and had fed by Keiko's Japanese dinner every night. That was a treasure. Even in Auckland, not so easy to find such good Japanese meals easily. Absolutely value of money. On top of that, the lounge is full of Japanese books, DVDs collection. I like the kitchen's old school decorations. It will be my next stay in Springfield for sure.
Should have take more photos. Very clean and comfortable place. I wish I could have live in here, many books, sofas, antiques. Especially mazing hot shower...! If you like Japan or if you are Japanese, you must visit because This place is like Japanese library itself. The moment I entered the shared living room, I couldn't help but shout, "No way!"
