⭐ 5/5 – A Perfect End-of-Year Breakfast Experience! ⭐ I visited this café today the general in mount with our office team for our end-of-year breakfast, and it was absolutely wonderful. From the moment we walked in, the hospitality stood out. The staff greeted each one of us so warmly, and the lady at the till was incredibly sweet and patiently guided us through the menu. One of the items was unavailable, but she promptly checked with the chef and arranged a great alternative for us. The coffees were top-notch — honestly better than many we’ve had at big corporate meeting spots like Starbucks. There’s something special about the flavour and consistency here. The food was extremely delicious, and we enjoyed every bite so much that we forgot to take photos! A big appreciation to the two lovely girls who served us with such warmth and smiles throughout. I wish I had caught their names to thank them personally. Highly recommended café — amazing service, amazing food, and truly amazing people. We’ll definitely be back soon.

The General Café is a fantastic spot for breakfast and coffee. The food, coffee, and relaxed atmosphere all made for a really enjoyable visit. The smash hash breaky bowl was excellent – super fresh with creamy avocado, perfectly cooked eggs, crisp hash potatoes, and a tasty hollandaise sauce that tied everything together. Everything was well seasoned and nicely presented, making the meal feel both hearty and wholesome. Highly recommend The General for anyone looking for a quality brunch and great coffee.

We had a wonderful experience during our visit on Sunday morning! I had the best flat white — easily the best coffee in town — and the granola was absolutely delicious: fresh and high-quality. You can really taste the care and attention to detail in the food. The breakfast was the best we’ve had in a long time. What made the visit even more special was the outstanding service from the entire team. Friendly, welcoming, and genuinely attentive — the customer service here is second to none. In our opinion, this café stands out as the best in all of Mount. Highly recommended for the quality food, great coffee, and amazing service. We’ll definitely be back!

Love this cafe! It has a beautiful vibe, light and beachy and quite spacious. Indoor and outdoor seating The baked goods all look phenomenal, the date scone I got was warm, and moist (which I’m often disappointed with a dry scone so this was a big win) I got the pecorino croast - which was FANTASTIC! I’ve been thinking about it all day and told at least 7 people about it Came here to do a bit of work in the mornings, there is wifi, but could only find 1 plug to charge up my laptop.

The service was appalling. The male waiter was extremely vacant so much so I wasn’t sure if it was on purpose but it was incredibly annoying. Not one smile was given by any of the staff and and it seemed like they all hated their jobs. To be fair they probably did. The place itself is empty of any ambience. It’s just a big room with a food counter and a couple of pictures in the wall. We considered leaving after waiting around 10 minutes to be served and when our order was taken we had little confidence that he had got it right. To put the final dig in when we paid the same male waiter said not one word, not even a thank you, down right rude. I understand this place has a good reputation but I would never go back. The food was nice.

Service is lethargic or non existant except for girl taking orders at the counter. Coffee good. Meal just OK as it was only vaguely warm. Yes, the beetroot should be cold but the rest should be hot. It was lunchtime on a Tuesday & not particularly busy. Sorry guys but "could do better".

This is one of the best cafes I have visited , food was brilliant, large servings and all cooked to perfection, coffee great and staff excellent. Place was pumping on a Sunday morning but all food came out at the same time as did the coffees . Had to pop back for a sweet treat a few hours later. Highly recommend.

Was down at the Mount for the weekend and we wanted some brunch. Saw a cafe in the corner n thought we'd give it a try. It was quite busy, but we managed to get a table big enough to sit 8 of us. I don't know if it was because they were busy we didn't get asked if we were ready to order, so we went up to the counter and ordered.. Only to be asked like 15-20mins later are you ready to order, a bit too late bro, ordered and paid. With the prices we paid our expectations were pretty high, when the food came out it looked wow but the taste was average, more like it wasn't the greatest. Not worth the money & service wasn't the greatest. If I was to come back down to the Mount I wouldn't come back here.

We went when it was super busy and were pleasantly surprised by the service and food considering! The French toast was very nice. The brisket was a little dry, but the flavours of the whole meal were yum as and the sauce made up for the dryness. The coffees were great too! Would come back.
