   Wanted to try something new. Was in the mood for a brothy beef curry stew. Saw a picture of the Gaeng Massaman, looked exactly like what I wanted. When it arrived via doordash, it was nothing like the picture. It was a coconut based sweet curry stew. Yes this is what Gaeng Massaman is. But I didnt not know this, if the picture was the same as the actual product I would never have ordered it. The picture advertised is NOT Gaeng Massaman. Below is the advertised picture, and then there's what I got.

   Nice little Thai food place in the city. Went here with my family. My kids enjoyed the Tom Yum fried rice. We also ordered Lamb Pad Thai and Curry puffs, they were nice and tasty food, it was too late when I realized I should have taken photos of the food. They have nice and friendly staff too.

   Food selection is good. We requested authentic thai style, which is less salt and more spicy. The pineapple fried rice is good but basil chicken is not spicy. Meanwhile, the prawn tom yum soup is spicy which is nice. They have authentic thai milk tea in can. Also serve free flow of hot green tea. Service is fast and the shop is small and cosy.

   We recently visited Tauranga city with the friends and climbed mt. Maunganui. After that we were hungry as hell. Searched for the food too try other than Nepali food. Came along with the Thai restaurant and must say its the best Thai food we ever had in New Zealand an in back home. The service was top notch. The staff were friendly and the food delivery was very fast. What an excellent memory quenching our hunger in Tauranga. Absolutely delicious food.

   Ordered a Tom Yum which is advertised as tomato and mushroom soup - also traditionally only is a mushroom and tomato soup - added chicken. No mention of all the other vegetables they included in it as soup was jam packed full of unnecessary vegetables (I’m assuming as a filler as not much chicken also) including sprouts which it is definitely not supposed to have in it! I am pregnant and didn’t realise until the end i had been eating them the whole time which can cause serious harm to babies. Not much soup AT ALL as just full of spinach, carrot and broccoli - also not ONE mushroom to be found. Gutted as all I wanted was a tasty, traditional Tom Yum soup. Meal advertised is not what was served and won’t be going back. Not traditional, not enjoyable, hardly any soup and very tasteless. Only ate it as it was all I had and starving.
