Nice seating outside by dead looking plants and some weird plant kind of thing hanging on wall The meal I had was Water cress salad kumara chunks, and small chunks of Kahawai Tge watercress lon g and strangley, very difficult to eat- as my sister in law who I took there for birthday lunch ssid the salad could have been made by an 8 yr old- She had Seafojd Chowder -a small bowl with barely any seafood in it,my other guest had an eggplant dish with a ball of cheese onyop which looked lije a poached egg Service was unbelievably slow- only half decent part of meal were our desserts-sticky date pudding and 2 affogato! I will not be shouting out about how great the Harbourside restaurant is anymore- believe me! What a disappointment as I was treating family member for birthday- nobody enjoyed antmything about our lunch- used to be my favourite but no longer!! Waste of time and money- no ambience, no nothing good to review!!

Harbourside favours a simple, bistro‑style mix with clear, clean flavours. Sweets lean classic and not overly rich. Front‑of‑house runs with calm, helpful energy. A riverside backdrop rounds out the stop. Takeaway travels well and holds its crunch.

Every time we are in Tauranga, we have to have a meal at our favourite Restaurant. Great atmosphere, fantastic food. We have never had a bad experience. The notes below is from another visit. We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, so we decided to go to Harbourside for a meal. They had a special menu THE CHEFS SELECTION 5 COURSE DEGUSTATION MENU Would have to give this 10 out of 10 They have two options for each course So we were able to sample everything. As we shared each other’s course. Brilliant. The photos say it all.

Had a pretty nice lunch here, my pork belly porchetta was good but could’ve used a bit more seasoning. Cocktails were absolutely divine! Special shout-out to VJ, whose service was next level. He is a real asset to your restaurant. The tranquil view added to the overall lovely experience.

The most amazing dinner we think we've ever had! Anniversary night out, so no kids with us. Great seat by the window onto the water. Lovely deck with outdoor seating on the water too. Waiter was so polite and helpful. Cocktails $20 each and very interesting combos. Loved the Fireball Old fashioned which tasted like Big Red gum for those who are fans! The squid entree was so tasty with the ginger, the octopus was one of the best combos of flavours I've ever had. Main of duck was perfectly cooked and the mussels, whilst small for NZ mussels, were super tasty with the leek and bacon. Even the side of chips was perfectly crispy! Couldn't fit much else, but managed the Tiramisu cheesecake and it was delightfully alcoholic. Total bill of $195, so a special night out type of cost, but so very worth it.

Absolutely superb! One of the best spots that offers an extraordinary fine dining experience with stunning views. The staff's service is exceptional! I reserved a birthday lunch for my wife, and they surprised us with a complimentary dessert beautifully decorated with a candle. We'll be going back for sure. An easy 5 out of 5!

Out to celebrate a birthday dinner, the service was excellent, and we were well looked after by our server Jason. Unfortunately, the meal was a letdown for the evening. The meal was very small for the price and came out rare when ordering medium. (confirmed by the chef at our table), however, the dessert was a highlight. Still overall, the evening was nice.

Great relaxing atmosphere and view, lovely attentive staff and hosts, parking will improve when the road works are finished, food outstanding, perhaps a few more vegetarian options. Overall a lovely place for any occasion.

A wonderful venue in a very quaint position. Wonderfully appetising menu. Very genuine and attentive staff. A cold raining day, warmed up with a blanket for the wife.. and great food and wine. Empty plates tell my story.. (this is the last mouthful to go) A must do, in Tauranga.

Their food was so great. The fried squid was the next level that I've had ever before. Also, miso glazed salmon was good, too. Besides food, I like the ocean view tables and staff. They were so kind. I highly recommend this restaurant and I'll definitely visit again.
