   The food was nice. Very busy when we went in but the buzz was everywhere. Bit slow with service. Waited about 40mins but understandable as the place was packed. Food came 45-60mins but wad worth the wait. Fish n chips were on point

   Overall experience dining here was good. We ordered bangers and mash and serloin steak with garlic bread on the side. Food did not disappoint as steak was cooked nicely medium-rare. Sausages just tasted like normal frozen sausages I make at home so not home made. We enjoyed the garlic bread. Facility was kept real clean and staff were attentive. Overall will return to try more on the menu.

   Went in for lunch on a Sunday as Te Awa was too packed. Ordered a Roast and Pint. Food was delicious and very filling. Staff were very patient with our large group. Highly recommend.

   We came across this pub by accident while searching for food and what a pleasant surprise! The food is delicious and very generous in their servings! We had the roast, the beef vindaloo (the spice kicks hard and it’s authentic like true indian curry so beware if you try it, it’s not for people who can’t take spice), carbonara, wedgies and the yorkies. We love the seasoning of the food and the wedges were cut from a full sized potato so it tastes simply magnificent! The roast was tender strips of beef slathered on a mount of mashed potatoes with gravy and peas and a piece of bread. The naan that was served with the curry was crisp and light, it served as a good company to the curry. The cabonara’s sauce was creamy and yet it did not feel too dense. Overall, the food is made with fresh ingredients, seasoned well and we ate until all our bellies were round. We also experienced an act of kindness by a generous patron here. We understand that he’s a regular to the pub. Thank you so much to the gentleman! You really bring Kiwi kindness and generosity on our road trip here and made our experience here simply beautiful.

   4 adults. Good spacing between tables. No loud music overriding our conversation. Polite attentive staff - noticed when we may want another drink, whilst eating and chatting. Will go again some time.

   Very nice pub! The staff were friendly, the food was average but it was definitely more of a bar than a restaurant. The tap beer was beautiful and better than what you buy from a shop! Definitely recommend for someone who is looking for a relaxing evening at a bar for a drink or two

   This might not be the most useful comment just because I love this place. Ambient is always cozy and the food is very good. We have had a couple of issues with food taking too long. However the staff is always on top of the things and everything has been taken care of every time.

   This place is an easy 5 star for me. All the times we went here we got great food and great service. The lamb roast special is a must for first timers. I had a cauliflower salad of some sort on a laidback Sunday and it was exactly what I wanted without knowing I needed it. And then there’s $1 chicken every Fridays! It is a definite value for money. Order some fries or salad on the side and you have a feast for a fraction of a cost. Just make sure to come early as it runs out pretty quickly.
