   Used to love this place, but honestly today was a let-down. Paid way too much for portions that were tiny, and the chicken was the driest I’ve ever had — literally felt like it had been sitting out for hours. Such a shame because Shamiana used to be my go-to, but after this experience I don’t think I’ll be back.

   This is not a children friendly restaurant. Owner just lashed out on my son tipping over a juice just because his floor will become musky. We even offered to look after the mess. Very poor customer service. Thinking about food is not great either. Should have looked at the ratings first hand before coming. As real as it is but I can't put any ratings higher, it is just about right. I am not angry just very disappointed. Lesson learn don't be lazy and eat at the nearest resto, which is close to the playgound. You are paying so you deserve to have the best food and service. Food is meant to take your stress and hunger away, but not on this one. I would recommend to go to a real indian restaurant away from The Base. Spice Traders not a good rating either.

   We went to Shamiana te rapa and we had a very bad experience. We ordered Mango Chicken Curry that does not even taste like Mango,very bland. On top of that, My son accidentally spilled his juice, he is just 2 years old. We apologised and asked if we could borrow a mop so we can clean it ourselves, she was grumpy and she told us this" look after your baby well, my floor is white and clean now with juice on the floor it will leave black marks when people come in!" I was very shocked and anmoyed, I did not expect that kind of reaction from her. I told her you have a very bad customer service,kids will always be kids and things like this can hapen. She should not open a restaurant if she does not want her white floor to be dirty. Never ever going back here.

   One of the best Vindaloos I've ever tasted and I've had quite a few, both from takeaway places and several higher end dine-in restaurants. I've also tried making my own several times but I can't quite crack the code! The person who served me was also very polite and friendly. She even laughed at a lame joke I made after she warned me about how the Vindaloo would be quite spicy.

   This used to be the best place, but there are new people in there and it has changed drastically. The food is awful. Not full of wonderful Indian flavours at all. I am sure my chicken wasn't cooked properly, I guess I will know later if I have food poisoning but the food is not even kept that hot, it seems like it might be a breeding ground for terrible bacteria. I don't think they care about the food, there is no pride in it's quality. Health and safety should check it out

   Came here twice and both time had hair in my meal. First time I didn’t say anything I thought it was an accident but second time the same dark hair ties to a piece of lamb. It was really disgusting. I told the lady but she won’t refund saying that I finished all meal. I found the hair when I nearly finished. What should I do? I went to the guy the guy served me another small piece of meat and got hair inside as well! And this lady even framed me up saying that’s is my eyelash. Unhygienic place! Rude customer service! Don’t go!
