   There aren’t many places left in this world that will happily welcome you an hour before closing, but last night we were lucky enough to have Tony’s Teppanyaki Ferrymead stay open for us so we could enjoy a meal and we didn’t even mention it was my friend’s birthday! We chose the set menu for two, and what a fantastic dining experience it was. From the egg fried rice and vegetables to the fresh salmon and juicy beef, everything was delicious. The service was warm and friendly, delivered with genuine smiles throughout the night. The owner even stayed late to prepare dessert and surprised the birthday boy with a special message on the grill. It’s amazing to find a restaurant that still prioritises happy diners above all else. Highly recommended!

   I recently visited Tony’s Teppanyaki in Ferrymead, Christchurch, and I was extremely disappointed. The restaurant advertises itself as an all-you-can-eat experience, but it felt like a SCAM. The price had recently changed without any notice, and it wasn’t mentioned when we arrived. We were seated from 5:30 pm to about 7:10 pm and only received about one and a half rounds of food. When we asked for more, the service was painfully slow. There were only four staff members: two chefs cooking, one chef running around, and one lady handling drinks and seating. With just five tables occupied, there’s no reason the service should have been that poor. On top of that, the portions were smaller compared to Tony’s in Riccarton, and the whole experience was frustrating. If you claim to be all-you-can-eat, you should actually deliver that not make customers wait ages for minimal food. Overall, this felt misleading and disappointing. I would not recommend the Ferrymead location at all.

   Good food, friendly staff. The atmosphere is great. The food is very delicious and comes with big portions. All of us enjoyed our set meals very much. Overall would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone else, especially is great for family gatherings.

   I ordered fried chicken and sashimi for starters, and beef for main. Food was great. It was busy for 6:30pm. Loved the mixed vegetables. Quite a generous serve. I was quite full when I left.

   Really enjoyed our dinner at Tony’s Teppan Yaki, generous portion, fresh ingredients and great atmosphere. Everything was delicious and we felt pampered by the warmness from the entire team serving us tonight Highly recommended and will definitely choose to return! Thank you Chef Nick for the delicious dinner, Fiorella for the wonderful service and Chef TJ as well. Appreciate the heater around us to keep us warm during the meal!

   To the business owner, I've never made a complaint on Google before until today. I booked for 4 at the Tepanyaki Grill and your front house lady was having a disgusting behavior telling me that we need to sit at the normal dining table. She does not give a **** even I was showing her my booking. She told me that will be better at the normally dining table as the Tepanyaki grill is very smoky. Oh hell no...Bye for good Tonys

   Really disappointed tonight. By the time we got there at 7.30pm they had run out of rice and then they closed the kitchen at 8pm, so I couldnt get my favourite desert. It would have been nice if they had told us that when we came in. And the atmosphere was completely off, there was no music so everyone there was sitting in complete silence.

   I used to go there to enjoy. but so disappointed they refused to use my coupon. Before lockdown I called them to ask and they said anytime we can use. I wasted my $78. Probably never go back. I'm so unhappy.
