A really great and memorable experience from start to finish. We didn’t want ‘off the shelf’ rings, so we approached our local jeweller Kent Morgan in Howick, to see if we could get something suitable made. We had a few ideas about what we wanted for wedding rings, but no sense what was practicable and what the cost might be. Having never commissioned a piece of jewellery before, we had no real idea of what to expect. Fortunately, Brendan’s friendly and knowledgeable advice was just what we needed. He helped us through the design process, showed us examples of styles and types of metal and made the whole decision process a very positive and collaborative experience. What really made the whole thing incredibly special, was his suggestion that we could actually help create the rings! We made an appointment and with a certain amount of trepidation turned up to see what we were going to be doing. Suffice to say Brendan’s skill and patience as a jeweller and a tutor meant that we were able to confidently cut and form the outer parts of our rings and then watch as he skillfully began refining and soldering the rings together. The finished items, perfect in every way, were completed well in time and were exactly the price as quoted. We truly couldn’t have been happier. A fascinating and really fun experience, which has not only given us two really beautiful and totally unique wedding rings, but another special memory of our preparations before the ‘big day.’
