Received great customer service super friendly, LOVE getting their chicken snack packs with a drink and Nutella donut before heading off to the beach! They are a “must-stop” each time we are around. :)
This is our local bakery and we love it. Its our go-to coffee (hot chocolate for me) place on the coast! The cinnamon scrolls and sugar donuts are family fav's in our house. Have also bought their sliced bread, and its lovely and fresh.
We decided to try this place out last time we came to Maraetai. The restaurant we wanted to go to was not open yet, and we were hungry, so we got steak and cheese pie from here. The pie tasted delicious last time, but we tried it again recently, and it was not anywhere close to the one we tried before. The quality seems to have dropped. I will try again to see if it was one-off. Size wise, the pie is gigantic. You can have it as a meal!
My partner has been there twice in the last week as she's been working out there, and has come home so sick from food poisoning after eating from this bakery. First time, knew straight away it was the sausage roll bought from here, but thought no gave them the benefit of the doubt..Went there again this morning bought spring roll and omg Food Poisoning AGAIN..!! NOT COOL.. DEFINITELY THE BAKERY!!
We popped in to grab a quick meal to eat down at the nearby beach. The Steak n cheese pies were hearty, big chunks of meat inside and very filling! I also had a custard pie with delicious filling and soft sweet crust pastry very yummy.
Best chips in town I would say! Pies taste good tho they were a little bit on the salty side. Sandwiches were fresh, thank you
Extremely fresh food. Large pieces of steak and bacon. Ample gravy.
Always a good coffee place. Even iced mocha or frappe always have the strong coffee and creamy flavour instead of watered down version. It's a small little shop and gets quite hot in there but they offer quite a range of cabinet items and coffee options. It's the go to for my sister each week and then we sit by the omana beach nearby. Got too caught up with the view and flavour so forgot to take the pic of drink.
I've just finished a couple of pies , they certainly looked pretty scrumptious, a steak & cheese & a steak bacon & cheese. I was the 2nd customer of the morning when I got them home I was immediately let down because first of all they were colder than Antarctica (I just live across the road) and worse still they might as well have been gravy pies only 2 pieces of meat in each one.... I think perhaps the owners are related to the people who run the takeaway shop next door, as they don't know how to cook either. I'd have been better off going to the gas station for a big Ben.
