I visited this restaurant for lunch with friends and had a pleasant experience overall. The place was clean and comfortable, with a relaxed atmosphere. The food arrived on time and was nicely presented. The staff were polite and helpful, even though the restaurant was fairly busy. Prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to anyone looking for a best taste of india.

I bought jalebi from here on Diwali, but unfortunately they were not up to expectation. They were yellow in colour, soggy instead of crunchy, and had a bitter aftertaste. Sadly, I couldn’t eat them and had to throw them away.

I had an amazing experience at Novelty! From the moment I walked in, the warm ambiance and friendly staff made me feel right at home. Every dish was bursting with authentic Indian flavors β€” rich, aromatic, and beautifully presented. The spices were perfectly balanced, and you could truly taste the freshness in every bite. The service was exceptional as well; attentive without being intrusive. Whether you’re a fan of classic Indian dishes or looking to try something new, Novelty has something that will impress you. I’ll definitely be coming back β€” highly recommended for anyone craving delicious, high-quality Indian cuisine!

Feedback on Chennai Platter Experience Dear Team at Novelty, I wanted to share my recent experience with the Chennai Platter I ordered. While the dosa was reasonably okay, the rest of the items were quite disappointing. The uttapam was dry and lacked sufficient toppings, and both the idli and vada tasted stale and unappetizing. Additionally, the chutney provided was watery and barely enough for a single idli, and the quantity of sambar was also inadequate considering the platter included dosa, uttapam, two idlis, and two vadas. Overall, the quality and presentation did not meet expectations, especially for a place of your reputation. I hope you will take this feedback constructively to improve consistency and ensure a better dining experience for your customers in the future.

Terrible experience. The staff displayed extreme rudeness and provided abysmal customer service. To make matters worse, they served us mild food instead of the medium hot we had requested, and it lacked any flavor whatsoever. Frustrated, we decided to order something else, only to endure an agonizingly long wait. As we waited for our naans, all of our curries grew cold. The process of simply placing an order dragged on endlessly. When we voiced our concerns, the staff responded with a single rude remark, claiming they were too busy to address our issues. If they are unable to handle customers, they should have been honest and informed us that they were at full capacity. While I understand they may have been busy, they should have prioritized the customers already seated.

Our experience at Novelty Restaurant in Auckland was nothing short of amazing! From the moment we stepped in, we knew we were in for a treat. The chole bhature, dosa, noodles, and standard thali we ordered were like a symphony of flavors that danced on our taste buds. The novelty of this restaurant truly shines through as it stands as a pioneer, being the only place in Auckland that caters exclusively to vegetarian enthusiasts. While the self-service concept might be different, it didn't detract from the overall charm of the place. In fact, it added a touch of uniqueness to our visit. The dedication to quality and the assortment of dishes available were beyond impressive. For vegetarians like us, Novelty Restaurant is an oasis of culinary creativity. If you're seeking an unforgettable vegetarian dining experience, Novelty Restaurant is a true masterpiece waiting to be savored!

This the place to go to if you are craving for authentic Indian Rasmalai! It’s totally worth it! The taste and flavor is really good! I have also had their samosas and bread pakora- even their savory is really nice! Would recommend this place if you are craving for authentic Indian savory or sweet dish!

Very disappointing experience in here!! People come here thinking they would be served good indian food !! But its absolutely tasteless Pani puri ( stuffing is just pale boiled dry potato sprinkled with salt) puris not at all good Sevi puri is also a big time disaster And Rasgula is a hard ice ball has no feel of Rasgula

Sheer disappointment ! Food and service both. We ordered a chat platter - pani puri arrived without any pani. The puris were hard and didn’t seem fresh. Tiki was soggy. The Chinese platter was even worse. Poor food d quality and no flavour. The monchow soup was probably the worst ever. Oily and without any flavour. No wonder the place was empty. Waste of money !
