A giant back in the day. This site was a magnificent resort, that today is bland. The service is minimal and we had to wait to book in. There were 2 Indian weddings so no restaurant other than pub food. $90 for 2 burgers and 2 beers, a $60 meal at its best. The location views were amazing, but the surroundings were not manicured, main foyer water feature needs cleaning. The rooks were huge, and empty at the same time missing simple opportunities for furniture. The toilet seat was also not level. Place was functional but one moment from breaking. Didn't stay for breakfast

Great golf course in summer at a reasonable price. Can get a little wet in winter, but still not as bad as some courses in Auckland. Challenging holes with some interesting OB carries. Plays like a mix between parkland and links.

Wonderful location with amazing views. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the rooms were large and spacious. The bathroom could use a little refresh, as there were some signs of wear and a few watermarks in the shower. Breakfast was decent, though it would have been nice to see a bit more variety and for items to be restocked more regularly. Overall, a lovely stay in a beautiful setting.

We stayed here for two nights. The location was close to an event. Formosa grounds are lovely with a golf course. The accommodation was not great. It smells damp. It looks like the villas are possibly leaky buildings with the plaster finish monolithic cladding. It obviously lacks maintenance with tables in the villa scatched and broken curtains. The service was not good. When we arrived there was no one in reception...we had to wait. We got to our room and it smelled a bit damp. We rang through to reception about room service, no one answered. We left a message. No one replied. On Saturday afternoon we grabbed some lunch at Restaurant 19. Pulled pork croquettes and salt and pepper squid. Presentation was good. The squid was tasty. The Pulled pork croquettes had an ok flavor.

Very nice experience. Nice large rooms on or close to golf course. Pretty views. Apparently dinners are nice there but we included buffet breakfast which was very good for the price. The rooms are clean and the TV worked okay. The bath used the hot water up but the bath and shower were good. Overall great. It is close to lovely drives in all directions and not far to travel from Auckland to feel as if you have really gotten away.

Great location for a quick getaway from the city life of Auckland. Overlooking rangitoto island, very spacious rooms and a huge size bathroom. Rooms are a bit tired but overall the stay is worth the money. Highly recommended for families with children

This place is well worth the drive. Despite not owning a single golf club, they welcomed us with open arms, which was quite amusing. It could be the perfect spot for a romantic getaway. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Too wet and windy for golf. Lunch was really nice, we had the platter. The view of the course, lake and sea was a spectacle due to the moody weather. We had sub rain wind and all colours if clouds. The service was excellent. They also serve Sunday roasts at lunch time. It must be nice to buy a villa on this resort and enjoy it all. It is a bit of a drive to get here from Auckland, but for us, it was a day out.

Great location & views! Horrible service & bed bugs!! We booked 2 nights with a big party but the service was atrocious! Called in to book dinner & were told no booking required just rock up! On the night when we tried to get a table at 7pm the attendant said youβre a big group and we canβt offer you a dinner menu but only a grazing menu! There was 9 of us! They werenβt busy just one other couple was in the restaurant. After a 15min discussion they finally agreed to serve us but the attitude we got for rest of the night was horrible! The room had cobwebs, broken ironing boards & some of my colleagues couldnβt turn their aircons on! Thats not all! I woke up the next day with bed bug bites all over my body! Definitely would not be returning & definitely wonβt be holding any more events there!

Outstanding Golf and Awesome Staff!! I just spent 2 days enjoying phenomenal golf and excellent food at this resort! The Awesome location complimented by stunning weather provided me with an amazing experience! I have to make special mention of the Outstanding service I received from Lance Hatfield and his staff who ensured that I got the maximum amount of golf in during my stay! Lance made my trip especially memorable and even gave me a ride to the ferry after I checked out! Lance clearly understands the meaning of Customer service!! My Villa was huge and spotless and my meals were great! I am definitely planning a return trip soon!!
