I highly recommend Fergs Kayaks! I was part of a student leadership course that spent the day at Fergs, and I had such an amazing experience. Ed led our day on the water, he is a great, highly experienced adventure coach who guided us confidently, taught us about the surrounding landscape, and shared the Māori origins of the area. A few of us were not confident on the water, but thanks to his support, we all boarded the paddleboard together. It turned into a fantastic team-building exercise. Also, Ed is such a funny, lovely, and entertaining person. With his depth of experience, he lit up our workshop and had us all laughing. Thank you so much, Ed, for supporting us on our journey!

Next level! Our team of students and mentors had an exceptional experience, not only on the water but also in the new workshop space that Ed Hines (new owner at Fergs) has set up. As we've been keen to develop a Waka Leadership business leadership programme at Good CX, we wanted to explore how this would work at Fergs. What a day - we were blown away and look forward to future innovation days on the water. Our outstanding experience went way beyond equipment quality and rental. Ed's capability as a safety specialist and adventure coach meant that we could utilise his understanding of leadership on the water. He was able to guide us not only how to use the Giant stand up paddle boards, but also to create balance as a team in the concept of a Waka. With a small weather window that quickly turned, Ed was able to give context about changing factors in environments. Following our business brief around how we wanted to use the activities on the water, Ed was able to collaborate with our mentors on concepts that reach beyond the water: navigation; safety; direction and perspective. The space that Fergs are developing above the shop is a sensational area for briefing, connecting and unfolding learnings. Thanks Ed for journeying with the Good CX team. We can't recommend Fergs enough.

A nice place to learn kayaking and have fun with families with children. Sam is extremely friendly and helpful with our children. He is our coach. Definitely worthwhile coming here. The water is calmer here compared to mission bay. So if you want to try kayaking, this is a good place to start. Will come back again. Thanks Sam and Simon!

I did the evening kayaking to Rangitoto Island in June. It was the start of winter and I was apprehensive abt kayaking back in the night but I definitely had a great (but exhausting) time. Our guide was really patient and would ask if we needed breaks throughout. Even while navigating waves in the night, he seemed to know what he was doing and that was reassuring. We also got to see a bit of the bioluminescent plankton on the way back! If you're thinking of doing this, it's best to have a moderate level of fitness.

I hired rollerblades for an hour. The man working there was very friendly and helpful and the rollerblades (I'm by no means an expert) felt high quality. I had a great time skating up to the beach past mission beach and I am very proud that I didn't fall over. It was a great way to see some of Auckland beach's.
