    Scrumptious! Candela has a warm cozy atmosphere, its busy but not loud. The staff were attentive, kind and made the night truly special. We opted to build our own feast and managed to order almost everything off the menu which went a long way with our group. Stand outs were the shishito peppers and the lamb belly… which they dressed up as a with a candle in a swirl of pommie puree and it’s now set the bar for the rest of my birthdays.

    Had a great dining experience at Candela - highly recommend! Pictured is the marinated olives, wagyu beef tartare (with crispy chicken skin - which was just WOW!!), market fish ceviche (also wow - tantalising for your taste buds!!), octopus and mushroom croquettes. Candela has a fun vibe, funky interior, yummy food, and delicious cocktails. The table also had a hook for your handbag which was really handy.

    I always love dining at Candela. Another visit last night only solidified how this restaurant is a leader in hospitality and dining - not only in Auckland but across New Zealand. The fresh ingredients and considered dishes balancing exotic flavours always leave me wanting more (which is why I have to make a monthly visit!!). The management and team are so professional - never missing any of the intricate details that make your experience so special. Would highly recommend dining here if you're looking for an intimate yet vibey atmosphere, delicious food and tasty cocktails or extensive wine list if that's more up your alley.     A hidden gem on K Road, Candela offers an unforgettable dining experience with incredible food, unique flavors, and top-notch service. We order lots of food but my favourite will have to be the ceviche, grilled cabbage, heirloom tomato and the best mushroom croqueta you will ever have in NZ. Trust me, you would not want to share! Make room for the basque cheesecake also! The wine selection was absolutely exceptional. Thank you for a great night!

    We love this restaurant and always make time to come each time we are in Auckland. A small menu allows them to really prepare top quality, tasty dishes that are as good as any we had in Spain. Don’t skip dessert—the Basque cheesecake is a must—light, creamy and served up with a side of berry sauce. We look forward to coming again!

    What a taste sensation! We had heard about Candela on the radio as a food blogger was asked where his go to was in Auckland and said that he frequents Candela. So we had to make a booking and drive up from Hamilton to experience it firsthand. We ordered the 'Olive Lemonade' which was extremely refreshing with a nice bite of lemon in there. The $85 set menu was amazing! Everything plate that came out was well presented and looked tantalising. Every single flavour on each plate complemented each other so well from freshness, to heat, to spice, to sweetness, to creamy-ness, to crunchy-ness to tenderness! What an absolute treat to experience so many flavours! We would definitely come back and eat at Candela a hundred times over! Thanks heaps for an awesome experience.

    We have been here for our anniversary. The food is amazing, they are all cooked with heart and soul. We have lamb belly as starter, grilled cabbage (we never imagine cabbage can be cooked this way), the meatball is soft and juicy and very strong fennel which I loved. The best is the octopus!!! They are so soft and charred and seasoned!! Great selection of wine. The cocktail looks great too, will try it next time Fantastic food! And we will sure come back on another day.
