   This is truely an amazing place. Once we arrived we felt right at home as the place was lovely, clean beautifully designed and the views are outstanding I don’t think those views can be beaten anywhere in the world. Sue and Gus were fabulous hosts. We were even able to hire Gus to take us around the island in his Cadillac. What an experience that was. This is my second visit and I am ready to book again as you really cannot unwind and relax like you can at Nikau Apt. We were a group of kiwis, Aussies and Americans so managed to rent out both the 1 & 2 bedroom places. I recommend this as the place to be, and cannot wait to come back.

   When we stepped into our Loft apartment we stood and said wow, we were stunned. The views just blew us away, then we walked out on to the deck, wow again, at least 180 degrees of view high above Onetangi beach and bay looking North and West as far as the horizon would let us. From the Northshore of Auckland, right up the coast to the Whangarei Heads, Great and Little Barrier islands and the Coromandel peninsula. The loft apartment is beautiful, so well fitted out with it's facilities, kitchen, bathroom and a very comfortable bed. Even lying in bed you get the stunning views and we have been so lucky with the clear sunny days of a Waiheke summer. The access to world class beaches, restaurants, wineries etc. and only a hour ferry ride plus car from home. The hosts Sue and Gus are fantastic, friendly and accommodating with lots of information and advice of places to go, plus places to eat and drink. The other two apartments are even if possible, of a higher standard. Everything is world class and we will stay here again hopefully in the near future. Beautiful art studio on site plus amazing gardens which must take so much time and effort to maintain. What a quality find for our 6 day stay, our time is just flying away with so much to see, do, visit and eat. Simply stunning, love it.

   It was a natural paradise outside with the various birdlife woodpidgeons ,tuis,kingfisher etc the view spectacular looking out to sea.If you are after peace and quiet this is the tranquil place to be.Highly recommend The nikau apartments.

   We stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment Positives: - high quality and well maintained apartment with everything we needed for a long weekend - Great peaceful and private location 5mins to Onetangi beach and surrounded by stunning rolling hills - Friendly and helpful owners Negatives: - the Nikau and cabbage trees have grown to block out much of the stunning sea views- the photos shown online are from a few years back ( the lower apartment seems to have uninterrupted views though) - the driveway to the apartment is lined by weeds which doesn’t set a great first impression for an expensive luxury accomodation
