Excellent customer service from the woman who helped me set up an account and a new term fund, she gave me some good tips I didn't know about - some of the best customer service I've seen in a bank. Found the contact centre support good too.

The staff I think her name is Serena. She treated us really well!!! The best customer service ever!!! We went the to open the bank and she’s really helpful. That day we went 3places (difference bank) She is the best service tbh. All places we went they seem like don’t wanna work but here BNZ Takapuna branch. They got a few staff here for counter and I know they’re so exhausted but she still service us like full of energy!! Thank you so much for all of your helpful ❤️❤️

What a disgrace, how are older people who don't use the internet or email meant to cope with the lack of physical services available? There was no warm smile, no reassurances to the older people who I saw struggling with the lack of services available. It was really awful and I do also feel sorry for the staff - it must be stressful to upset people every day because the system doesn't care about anyone over 60 by the looks of it (unless they're really rich perhaps ?).

I don’t normally go out of my way to leave a negative review but today’s experience was beyond terrible that I felt compelled to. My grandmother is 80 years old (partly deaf), she doesn’t speak English and does not know how to use a computer. My mum and I are her care takers so we also handle some of her finances (food shop, paying her bills etc). I walked into BNZ Takapuna today with her present… she was with me so they could see she wasn’t able to speak to anyone. I was trying to set her up with online banking so we could manage her bills better & the person assisting us pretty much wouldn’t allow me to do this with her because “she had to set up her own pin” … my grandmother hasn’t used a computer a day in her life, and they would not allow me to help her. It’s absolutely disgusting that the bank behaves that way and isn’t understanding of everyone’s different circumstances. What was worse, is eventually after arguing with them for 10 minutes they finally allowed me to help her set her pin, they stood there and watched / listened while I set up her pin which is a complete breach of privacy. Absolutely shocking!!

my mortgage broker asked me to open an account with BNZ, so i went to the takapuna branch and staff asked which bank are you with ? ASB and ANZ I replied she said "why do you need another account then?" I was kinda shocked. My wife works for ASB and she was shocked as well the way she asked. I understand that they need to know customers intensions before they provide any service but that was rude for me.

Reception is polite, advisors however are not. Daughter had a terrible experience. She had a panick attack at an appointment and was treated harshly, very disappointed. They judge people on your wealth, your background, and what your parents do for a living. Would give 0 stars if i could.

I visited the Bank few minutes back. I was waiting at the customer enquiries desk. There was a queue of 5 people at the teller's desk. After a while a lady came from the back office and walked directly to the teller's desk and accompanied a customer to my desk. I asked the lady where is the queue for customer service ( I don't want to deal with teller- I was there for opening an account), her response was "sorry I am with a customer". Even the bystander said that I was at the desk before. (Infact the teller que person came after me..) I can understand it's lunch time and may be staff could be available less in number, also the person she accompanied is senior to my age. I have no complaint. All I am requesting is please put a board saying the policy about queue.. Thanks
