On a sunny day this is a nice spot for a picnic. The grounds can get wet in the rain. A small workout areas with outdoor equipment devoid of weights, good for the elderly. Great for dogs too. Playground for kids on the eastern side. Saw quite a few dogs take a dip in the water too. There is also a boat ramp. northern side of the park has tennis courts, walking tracks and nic eopen spaces for pets, can get damp.

This park in North Auckland is a real treasure. It offers amazing sights of the Sky Tower and Harbour Bridge together in one view. You can have picnics, there is a playground for children, and you can swim or paddle in kayaks. I visited this lovely spot with my partner on a day I was feeling a bit low, and it was a great pick-me-up. Highly recommended place! p.s. I hope this spot stays quiet and lovely, just as it is now – not too many people, just lots of beauty.

We visit this reserve occasionally and everytime we visit, we get a great experience. The views of the harbour bridge are expansive and wide. There is a small park for children containing a variety of rides and slides. This makes it a great place to spend a couple of hours with kids. Small amount of parking spaces are available too. The access is easy via road and it is a well recommended outing on a sunny day.

Little Shoal Bay is a nice relaxing family friendly beach located between the Birkenhead and Northcote Point of the North Sore region in Auckland. It can be accessed by Maritime Terrace from the Birkenhead end or Queen St/ Rodney Rd/ Church Rd in the Northcote Point. It is a destination on its own, having a picnic area with BBQ, toilet facilities, a small beach for swimming, a playground and over the road, bowling club, a tennis court and a basketball court. It also is one access point to the popular Le Roy's reserve which has a couple of nice bush tracks where you can spend hours exploring wetland and land-based fauna and flora.
