Hi, my experience with SPCA op was not great, as it seemed there was no coordination within their internal team. Before I drove there, I rang to confirm what they were accepting at the moment, and the lady on the phone confirmed they were accepting everything apart from children’s clothing and linen. I specifically asked if they were accepting adult clothing and books—and they said yes. When I got there, before I dropped off anything, I went in to confirm they were indeed accepting books and adult clothing (it was lunchtime and the only parking spot I could find was far away, I didn’t want to carry heavy bags there and back if they had changed their mind). The lady at the counter again said yes. Great. So I went and brought in bags of clothing, making trip after trip, and two extremely full bags of books. Only to be told by a man, I think he could have been the manager, that they weren’t accepting books.

Although the reviews say staff is rude and prices are high, I always go here on weekends, and the girl at the counter is nice. The reviews saying the staff are rude are rather outdated, and after all my personal experiences as a regular customer here, the girl with glasses on the Saturday morning is lovely. Some prices are on the high side, but all proceeds go to the SPCA animals, as the staff do not get paid and are just volunteers. They don't always take donations even though there is a sign outside saying they do, and sometimes they're closed when they should be open but the Saturday girl told me they're short on volunteers at the moment.

Overpriced. Don’t know how they justified the prices for used items $20 set of 4 glasses, $22 + for used shoes. Going to shop in Onehunga for a much better deal

Extremely overpriced, the staff are rude and cold faced. I get you have overheads but charging the prices that they do your better off buying the item new. Spca I notice you ask people to respond via the correct channels now the issue with that is it stays in house and nothing seems to change where using this platform it allows potential customers to see real feelings of your community and or customers.

Clearly over priced. They get it donated however to pay all the staff and admin they feel they have to ask antique retail prices. I dont get it. They're happy to sit on stuff for months and then put a sign up saying no more donations. From a business point of view I would say be more reasonable. Price it fairly and turn the stuff over quickly. Can't stand the way the op shops opperate. Won't bother popping in anymore. They just got too greedy and even though previous reviews say that they just keep getting greedier still the prices go up. Feed those puppies.
