excellent coffee and friendly people. beautifully decorated. every detail feels thoughtful and inviting. also have a small selection of boutique homewares, candles and gifts. a charming spot worth visiting.
Perfect spot to fill in an hour between meetings. Berry Danish was perfect: perfect pastry, not too sweet. Steak pie also had real chunks of steak in it. Will be a regular spot.
Visited this cafe a couple of weeks ago. Food was good. However, I left feeling sort of judged because I wasn’t part of a certain demographic that usually dines at this cafe. I was kept waiting for beverages that I had ordered for myself and my family, while other customers that had ordered well after me were served first.
First time here and the cabinet food is attractive. Puffy apricot Danish, banana bread, hot choc with oatmilk. I, like many others who have posted reviews was surprised at paper cups but clearly they're sticking to their policy.
I’m really lucky to have The General as my local. It’s as good as it gets when it comes to cafes/eateries. Beautiful fit-out, great atmosphere, faultless service, and delicious food and coffee. Amazing, relaxing, decor, beautiful selection of food and great coffee but that's not what's best... we were greeted with such kindness today (with a long wait ahead of us at Greenlane Clinic around the corner), for the record we LOVED the baguette, it made our day. New fave cafe, highly recommend!
