Atmosphere is absolutely gorgeous, no doubt about it. The sun was out and there were a lot of people on the deck for lunch. Majority of our group ordered from the cabinet as we were on a work lunch break and assumed it would come out quickly. The one person who ordered from the menu actually got their meal first and then there was a bit of a wait before our sandwiches started arriving so her hot meatball dish got cold while she waited for everyone else to get their lunch. Waitstaff were polite, but perhaps some food&hospo training would be beneficial for them as they are quite young and expected to handle a lot of customers. Coffee was bitter, machine might need a clean. Was presented very nicely though. We were actually all keen on focaccia but were advised while ordering at the counter that theyβd run out but they had kumera soughdough as a replacement. Dog friendly.

This cafe can get crazy busy at peak times but we were there midweek for brunch and the food & service was great. Our meals were delicious and the staff were friendly. We ate our brunch out on the porch while basking in the peaceful & beautiful surroundings. Parking is plentiful and a stroll through the park and/or through the art gallery is a bonus.

I was really excited to come here, I love Sam Mannering's writing and recipes, but it just felt off today. As I entered the room it seemed cold and unfriendly and unkempt. The outside tables were left dirty and pigeons were fighting over scraps and knocking glasses to the floor. Menu food was as described but bland. The building is amazing, as is the park setting. I'll try again, but it was a lackluster first experience.

Great location and I am sure it has great food. However very disappointed with the placement of my table booking for Mother's day which i booked days in advance. A table with a view of screened windows and a curtain covered closet/storage was very unwelcoming and not suitable for the occasion. Would of been nice to have been called to advise this instead of expecting us to sit there. Not accommodating today. Even the high chair I requested was not available. After 5mins, we decided to leave and were very lucky to find another cafe in cornwall park to enjoy mother's day.

Coffee was good. However The cabinet food let them down. So overpriced the paninis lacked substance needed some kind of relish. The muffins were stale so dry. In my opinion If you are going to sell yesterday's food then you should sell it cheaper and also let your customers know. Nice service.

Love this place, I'm surprised the google rating is not higher. Tried the caesar salad for the first time and highly recommend it. And the kumara croquettes, must get! Love their sweet treats in the cabinet too. Dog friendly just makes this the perfect place for me.

We ordered the slow cooked lamb crumpet and big brekkie, plus a side of shoe string fries. The crumpet was aaaamazing, and the fries and aioli was sooo fresh and light i could eat it all day. The portion of the brekkie was perfect, and the coffees were sooooo good! Quality was great, price a little on the high side.

Very cute little cafe situated in the Wallace Art Gallery with views over the extensive gardens and out to Onehunga. Everything is local and they do their own baking; their crumpets are a must-try! Menu is quite small but there's still something for everyone. Great coffee too.
