We came here for dinner with a couple of kids and the lady was a bit grumpy but helped us navigate the menu to arrive at some kids friendly dishes because quite a few items were unavailable. There was also a 30% discount on the second bowl of noodles, plus a free cold drink. The noodles were generally tasty but the eggs we ordered on the side were dry. The deep fried buns looked burnt but was actually quite good. The condensed milk dipping sauce looked congealed.

It was 2022 when I first came here, and back then the food was great and it was pretty decent overall with services and atmosphere. However, when I return today, their quality took on a whole new level. Services are much more pleasant and welcoming now, and although there are inflation, they compensated it with a free drink for just ordering a bowl of rice noodle. Atmosphere didn’t change too much, but it has always been satisfactory. Overall great experience! P.S: food usually takes only 3-5 minutes to serve now.

Quite enjoyed rice noodles here, although I am not sure whether they are authentic or not. All I know is the food is yummy and the price is reasonable. Most importantly the portion is big enough for an adult to hold on overnight. I would recommend if you want to try some local Chinese easy meals.

I recently dined at Guilin Rice Noodles, conveniently located at the start of Dominion Road in Mt Eden. The location is excellent, with plenty of parking available along Dominion Road or on nearby side streets, making it easy to access even during busy times. The restaurant is run by two Northern Chinese staff, which I found interesting, as it's quite different from what one might expect from a place specializing in Guilin Rice Noodles. Despite the staff not being from Guangxi or Guilin, the interior is thoughtfully decorated, with elements that highlight the origin of Guilin Rice Noodles and beautiful postcards showcasing the stunning scenery of Guilin City. The ambiance certainly brought back fond memories of my childhood, evoking a sense of nostalgia that I didn’t expect. When it comes to the food, the rice noodles were flavorful but a bit on the salty side for my taste. The portion size was less than average, but I would have preferred a slightly lighter hand with the seasoning. The flavors are robust, and it’s clear they put effort into crafting the dishes, even if the taste profile isn’t exactly what you’d find in authentic Guilin cuisine. Pricing is on the higher side compared to other options around town; our meal for two came to $42, which feels steep, especially considering the current trend of $9.90 express lunches available at other eateries nearby. This place is almost twice the price, which might deter some from frequent visits. However, the quality of ingredients and the cozy atmosphere do somewhat justify the cost. Overall, Guilin Rice Noodles offers a pleasant dining experience with a unique touch of decor that transports you to a different place. While the food isn’t perfect, it’s still a solid choice if you’re craving something a bit different on Dominion Road. I hope they continue to refine their flavors to match the excellent service and inviting ambiance they’ve created

Strongly not recommending this place. The workers' attitude is incredibly unfriendly, and the food seems to be of doubtful freshness, as it made me feel unwell. As a Chinese person, I can confidently say that the taste is far from authentic and not worth the price of $15 or more.

Good rice noodles and authentic taste in my opinion. Due to rising cost, they have up-ed their price a couple of month ago and now stopping providing free extra noodles. However charge $3 for something previously free is too much!

Guiding Rice Noodles are so Delicious. This is my favorite rice noodle place. There are many options on the menu here, but every time I come there are only a few items available to order. You have the option of dry and soup to choose, the level of spiciness is optional. One serving is a big bowl of noodles. It's small with 14 seats, traditionally decorated in the style of a family.

The most generous portion of noodles! My friends and I have never had such springy and delicious rice noodles. It’s authentic and good food, the servers are friendly and the other reviewers are too critical. Go for the food, it’s worth it!!

Food was fine but a but plain. The Yunnan style noodle they make is little more than a shadow of what you get in Kunming. There was very little flavour and not a lot of toppings. That being said it seemed to get better the more I ate it. Staff are average, they take orders but in a very disinterested way. The sour spicy potato dish was not spicy or sour, it was salty and had taste but wasn't what I was expecting. Considering proximity to some really excellent noodle places, Guilin is not a place I'd go back to.
