We had an amazing tour with Landmarks New Zealand. Bill is incredible! He catered our tour perfectly to our interests which made for a fun filled day full of explorations and laughter. We left New Zealand having learnt so much more about this beautiful country but also with a new friend. Can’t wait for another adventure with Bill!
Bill picked our group of 6 up from the cruise ship terminal in Auckland on 26th April 2023 for a days tour of the region. We had discussed a rough plan of what we would ideally like to do and Bill put together a wonderful day out.He is a very knowledgeable guide covering an extensive range of topics and is passionate about Auckland and New Zealand in general. We thoroughly enjoyed the time spent sight seeing, exploring on a nature trail, wine tasting and eating out. Bill quickly fitted in to our group and made the day. We would have no hesitation in recommending his guided and bespoke tours.
What an absolute pleasure it was to spend the better part of 5 days with Bill. He is so knowledgeable about the region, its history, its food, and its wine. I typically would not seek out a guide on my own, but I could not be happier that my travel companions found Bill. He absolutely made our trip so much more special than we could have hoped for, and it was genuinely so lovely to get to know him. Whenever I find myself back in New Zealand, I know exactly where to start planning my holiday!
Bill is a fantastic guide - he’s super knowledgeable about NZ nature, history and culture, and he’s a very flexible and thorough planner as well. Our group of 4 had a terrific day with him on Waiheke island tasting olive oils and gins, touring the terrain, and enjoying gorgeous scenery on secluded beach and forest walks. Highly recommend!!

We spent a day with Bill Hird and he did an excellent job of touring us in the greater Auckland area. His historical knowledge was very deep and informative. Bill was a truly great guide. Kind, knowledgeable, easy going, thoroughly prepared, and flexible. Bill catered a terrific day for us in the Waitakere range, full of waterfalls, hiking, black sand beaches, ocean dips, history, and local culture an d info. We ended the day at a very soulful tucked away spot with a great vibe, which we would never have found on our own. It was a beautiful day which hit the highs for our family of active travelers! I would highly recommend Bill - particularly if you are a foodie, wine connoisseur, or want to see the hidden away spots only locals know!
