Our server, Ken was amazing. Food was delicious and paced really well. My daughter loved her chicken mains. The lamb was wonderful. Shoutout to Adel for being super accommodating to my little daughter. He and Ken made our night so fun.
Thank you Sugar club really enjoyed the hospitality with an amazing dishes and not forgetting tue beautiful sunset view .Booked the evening for the special occasion had such a good time and not forgetting the special birthday surprise treat after our dinner.
We did the degustation menu. Absolutely brilliant. The food was amazing - even the things I wouldnβt normally jump at were fabulous. The bread and cultured butter were a great start then it just kept getting better. Service was fantastic and the view was fabulous.
The food was sensational. I donβt think I have ever had such great lamb! The wine and cocktail menu is extensive and delicious!! The view is phenomenal. This is a place everyone needs to go once in there lifetime! The waiter was great filling up the water - always a good sign of service. However a couple of things, there was no background music which I thought was odd. The service was slightly slow - not due to the waiter being lazy, he non stopped work! There needed to be more staff.
A surprise chocolate cake on my birthday is fantastic. The staff were friendly and always checked the table.The steak and wine were really delicious!
Had high hopes when coming here unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. We went for the deluxe tasting menu with matching wines. Sadly only once did the wine enhance the meal over 7 courses. The "main" was eye fillet steak which was way under seasoned. The dessert was by far the best meal we had throughout the evening. While the service was ok, on more than one occasion we received the meal before the wine which isn't ideal.
My wife and I came here as our "splurge" dinner during our honeymoon in New Zealand and we will remember it forever. The food, the views, the service, and the atmosphere were all top notch. Although the price is... shockingly high, the tasting menu with the wine pairings was absolutely worth it. The chef himself, Peter Gordon, brought out our main course. Cocktails are also very good here.
Would say 3.5 stars, but I am feeling generous today. View = amazing. Obviously! Service = Really good! Food = Average.... Small portions. The entrees were probably the best meals of the night (Octopus and the Crayfish Linguine) The mains we had were the duck and the lamb and they were good, but nothing stood out about them. The desserts were pretty normal as well. I think i expected more and went home slightly hungry still. 3.5.
Selected the tasting menu which was superb, the staff had a great knowledge of the plates they were serving, each course was a delight. Going with the tasting option gave us the opportunity to sample the dishes we wouldn't ordinarily select. Learnt some fantastic new palate and flavor mixes. The head chef visited us and personally grated the fresh Christchurch Truffle which was amazing. All in all we can't fault the experience. Pricey yes but well worth it. Sorry the food pictures don't do the meal justice.
