Look by any means this place is not super flash but I think it’s seriously good value. I stayed for 2 nights at $160 a night in the run up to Xmas. Great location, great price and a great big room with a super comfy bed. Also used the pool which was all ok. Remember to take your room towel as the day I was there none were provided. Lastly check in and staff were all good. Remember people it’s $160 NZD for a massive room in the middle of the city.

We stayed in a heritage family room with our young kids, made liberal use of the rooftop pool and throughly enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are older, but, our 7th floor room was well maintained, had good internet and tv setup, was large and had a good view. We were able to get a good price for the stay and considered it value for money. Reception was pleasant and helpfull. The hotel despite being quite large was very quiet. The location is great for most central Auckland activites. We will be back again for a short stay next month. This is not a 5* property with room service or super modern decor, but it suited our needs well.

Don’t. The only thing that was good about this place was the staff. They were incredible, operating in what must be a very challenging and demoralizing environment. Tracey and Sandra were fantastic. The room was filthy. Nothing was clean, the pool area was mediocre but just passable. Cigarette burns in the carpet, filthy bathroom tiles, greasy smears on the glass, dust covering everything, filthy floors. To be fair the bed felt clean.

This hotel is 100% the Tinder date that used photos from 2014 and a very flattering filter. Online it’s giving 4-star luxury. In person it’s giving β€œoh.” The room was dusty, outdated, and came with bonus cigarette burns in the carpet. A charming throwback no one asked for. There was a visible layer of dust on basically everything, which really helped sell the β€œhasn’t been updated in a while” aesthetic. For the price they’re charging, the room quality was honestly shocking. Now, the only reason this isn’t a 1-star review: Sandra and Tracey. Absolute legends. Warm, kind, helpful, and genuinely lovely. They carried this stay on their backs and deserve a raise. If you’re booking for the staff alone, you’ll be happy. The rooftop pool and gym were actually great and lived up to expectations, which made going back to the room feel unfortunate. Overall, it’s a hotel trying to sell luxury while delivering nostalgia. I wouldn’t recommend paying the premium price unless the rooms get a serious glow-up. Great personality, questionable reality. Just like that date

The hotel was not as advertised and if I had known what it was like, I would not have booked it. We booked a deluxe tower room, expecting a view of the harbour. But what we got was a dark, dingy room with a view of a busy street and bus interchange. It was all but deserted in the public spaces, restaurants and shops were all closed, there was no room service (hardly any service at all actually, reception rarely staffed, no-one to provide towels at the pool, no bar at the pool etc). Even the location was a disappointment, yes maybe a kilometer to the waterfront but up and down a steep hill, so difficult to walk easily into the main centre and no decent cafes for morning coffee breakfast etc. The only positive is the one staff member (Aeyon) who went out of her way to move us to a better room.

Dirty microwave, for the price I would have thought coffee, milk etc would be replenished. Definitely won't go back again

The room was spacious but dirty, and not up to standard for any hotel you would pay money to stay at. We were paying guests yet when we approached the receptionist named Christina for a quick question, she barked back at us in an annoyed tone. Out of the few nights we stayed, we came across several different receptionists and only one was kind enough and had the minimum of complying with our simple requests in a nice way. The overall atmosphere of this place is quite dull and the employees show that in their poor customer service. Other customers are better off paying a bit extra in other hotels in the city.

Hotel staff were extremely rude, saying things like "I'm busy. What do you want." when we were asking for towels. Seems they are short staffed and I can understand to an extent. Service made the stay seem unwelcome and unwanted.

Absolutely awesome time. Such a nice location, staff extremely helpful. Had a pool with an awesome view and a gym/ health spa. The bed was honestly the comfiest thibg i have ever slept on and possibly ever will sleep on. Air conned rooms to escape the humid head. Easy 5 stars
