Here’s a revised version of your review that keeps a neutral tone, reflects a New Zealand writing style, and is supported by data on service expectations to strengthen the points. βΈ» I visited Queen’s Head Bar and Eatery and found the service below what you’d generally expect in a busy hospitality environment. I asked for a table outside and was told someone would bring a menu out, but after about 15 minutes I ended up going back inside to request one. This was surprising given there were plenty of empty tables, which usually signals a venue should be able to seat and serve customers promptly. Research on customer satisfaction in hospitality shows that wait times beyond 10 minutes for initial contact often lead to negative perceptions of service quality, even if the food later compensates for the experience. The server eventually came out about ten minutes later, and to their credit, the drinks arrived quickly. The food followed in roughly 20–25 minutes, which is within the typical range for a casual dining venue. Fortunately, the food was good and helped balance out the earlier frustration. What stood out, though, was that several staff appeared to be taking a break together in full view of customers for around half an hour. Studies of customer experience consistently show that visible staff disengagement can have a strong impact on perceived service quality, even when the rest of the visit is adequate. It gave the impression that serving customers wasn’t the priority at the time. Overall, the food was worth the wait, but the service didn’t match it. With a bit more attention to basic customer flow and visibility, the experience could be much better.

Had a wonderful birthday here! Amazing food, great atmosphere, and outstanding service. To my surprise, after the meal, the manager kindly offered to take a photo for me and even brought me to the rooftop bar. From there, I enjoyed the stunning night view of Auckland! Thank you, Christine and your team, for making my birthday so unforgettable. I’ll be back!

Celebrated my birthday here a couple of weeks ago and had a wonderful experience! The staff were super friendly and welcoming, and the food was absolutely amazing. Loved that they offered halal-friendly options too. They even offered to take pictures of us, which made the night feel extra special. Highly recommend for a special occasion or just a great meal out!

We had a birthday celebration for our friend and brought our own birthday cake. Didn't have to pay extra fee for that. It was a fantastic service from the waitress to the chef. We are Muslims ladies, and the chef went to our table to double-check our dietary requirements and preferences. The whole night was wonderful. 100% recommended for celebration.

Had a birthday celebration here. Service was so good, they were the friendliest and kindest souls. They took a picture for us for the birthday. And gave a small card. So cute Food was delicious. Chef was kind

The quality of the food is good, fairly cheap given it’s in a hotel right in the heart of the CBD. The staff there are friendly and helpful. I particularly like their breakfast.

This is the restaurant in the Four Points by Sheraton hotel. Briefly I would like to mention all the hotel staff are friendly and helpful, but if you stay any length of time as I have, you will interact with the restaurant staff the most. The restaurant staff are super nice, and friendly. The simple conversation and smile in the morning starts the day off right. Emily and Irene are simply fantastic. Despite working all the time, they make a point to make you feel welcome, and are truly great at what they do. The food is quite good, and the selection is also nice....Anyone should be able to have a good meal. I have had many nights at this hotel and have eaten Breafast, Lunch, Dinner, and treats. The food is of good quality. Taste, and nice portions. I recommend this restaurant and the overall hotel, for a pleasant and warm stay.

The food is amazing here, try the Caesar salad and don’t forget to add the chicken as it’s extra but worth every penny!

I appreciate the chefs and staff that catered to my family and I last weekend. Our lovely waitress, who was attentive and always had such a friendly demeanour. She also recommended a wonderful pinot gris, which was excellent! Since finding a park in the city was a problem, I'd like to thank the manager and the gentleman at reception for allowing my sister and uncle to park outside the hotel. Older folks loved the Leigh Fish dish, which was delicious. Everyone had a good time that evening. Highly recommend.

VISIT: end of February 2020 This was a pleasant surprise as we ate here probably every day of the 3 that we were in town. I typically shy away from restaurants that are in the hotel because they tend to be pricey. We felt, for Americans, that this was decently priced and that each time we ate here, we got a different meal FOOD WE TRIED: - Chicken and vegetable dumplings - Prawn and chive Gyoza - Arancini - 55 day aged beef brisket sliders - Seafood Risotto - Spaghetti with mussels, snapper and prawns The sliders, gyoza and spaghetti with seafood was VERY good. I wouldn't order the dumplings again, but I always forget that chicken dumplings just aren't the same as pork and/or shrimp. The Arancini was a bit disappointing in flavor, maybe just a touch more salt would have been helpful and same thing with the flavor of the Risotto. The seafood was cooked perfectly, but the sauce on it just wasn't as flavorful as I would have liked, for a risotto. Service was always great with the staff always helpful with recommendations. We were very happy to have access to this restaurant during our stay the Four Points
