Modicum looks unassuming from the outside - it is a small cafe, so easy to miss. But do yourself a favour and go there for lunch. They have the best coffee in the area, friendly service and though small, has a great selection of cabinet food - both sweet and savoury. I've been a few times to have lunch or a coffee and snack, and the food never disappoints. Recently, I needed catering done for the office. Generally, I would never serve food in a box, always plate it, but the Modicum ladies presented the food to such a degree in their box that I didn't feel the need to replate. They added labels and the food was still warm when I picked it up. Best of all was that I didn't need to find homes for the leftovers, because there were basically none! The attendees all said how delicious everything was, and they polished the lot!

Owners are so lovely and friendly, the food was delicious and made fresh, we had a piece of the banana bread for dessert and it was divine really light and fluffy. Coffee was nice and strong.

Tiny spot. Delicious food. Wow - wish they were open weekends. Packed with flavour and a menu slightly different to the usual stuff you see. Very friendly service.
