Absolutely thankful to the team at Birthcare! A special mention to Anne, Linda and Sharon that were our midwives. They took the time to listen, care and manaaki us for the 3 days we were there. They were quick to act and we never felt rushed and they always ensured we know what we were doing. The facilities were always well kept, clean and the food was on point everyday of our stay. Amenities kept on top of as well. We are so grateful we made the decision to stay instead of heading straight home. Thank you also to Tala at the front desk who made it easy to check in and check out. Beautiful reception to come into!

My stay at Birthcare was just amazing! Staffs were just amazing, professional, super helpful, and always there when you needed them. Had great tips and learnings from the midwives and I just cannot thank them enough! They gave you good feedbacks and lots of encouragement and supports throughout the stay. (Thank you so much to Naomi who has helped me a lot). The room was comforting and the meals were just delicious. Thank you for the great experience!!

Overall, we had a very positive experience with them. We appreciate the professional service we received at Birthcare, and we absolutely love Kate and Lazzie, who demonstrate genuine care and profound commitment to the child, the mother, and the whānau. It was a very touching experience to see how they hold and talk about our baby, and how they model breastfeeding and baby-care techniques. We had to stay there for four days, and we experienced thorough and thoughtful care from at least seven staff members. All of them are professional and, in general, know what's best for our child. At first, it might feel like you experience inconsistent care and standards (which might be slightly true); however, the brighter side of this is that we learned so much from different staff members, as they all have their (unique) strengths. We also need to be aware that many of the staff members come from a different cultural background, and English may not be their native language, so it may take a while for you to fully understand them. For a minute, I even thought a few of them were quite condescending, but when you take their advice with an open heart and active listening skills, you might soon realise it is just how passionate they are about their job and how much they want to share what's best for you, even if you might not like the way they told you at first. Plus, the food is nice. A small surprise was that there was one time a student midwife (a quite capable one) came and performed a check-in and standard procedure. But she was not under any supervision during that time. Neither did she introduce herself as a student midwife until I found out. Highly recommend this place, especially if you are a first-time parent. We definitely learned so much!! Thank you, thank you, and very best from the bottom of our hearts.

The room is a bit smaller than I expected (and seriously… no table, a bit struggle when it comes to meal time), but overall still a comfy room. Midwives were absolute stars – friendly, patient and professional. They literally saved us multiple times, from teaching diaper changes to calming down two clueless new parents. Big shoutout to Jo and Wah Wah – you two are amazing! Couldn’t have survived those first few days without you ❤️

Birthcare was amazing. All the staffs were super friendly and helpful made us feel cozy and welcomed. This is my second time staying here. Looks like they have renovated the rooms. Was super cleaned and tidy. Was nice that they also have a spare bed for my partner.

We stayed at Birthcare Auckland recently after the birth of our first child. It was a mixed experience. Most of the midwives and nurses were kind and pleasant, however a couple of them were unprofessional, judgemental and seemed incompetent. Birthcare Auckland also appeared quite disorganised and the medications prescribed by our obstetrician after the birth were not provided unless I followed up repeatedly. Also, please be aware that formula supplementation is heavily stigmatised and hugely frowned upon at Birthcare, to the extent where they practically suggest that it is better for a baby to starve than to be given any formula supplement. Clearly this anti-formula view is outdated and plain daft for mothers that struggle with milk supply. Almost all babies lose weight during the first three days or so. Our little boy lost 9.2% of his birth weight after three days which is not abnormal, however the midwife who weighed him made the biggest song and dance about it to the extent of being accusatory, even though our obstetrician who visited us that day said it was normal weight loss. Overall, we would still recommend Birthcare for first time mothers, although do take the advice you receive there with a grain of salt and make sure you keep an eye on what medications you are supposed to receive.

Wow... NO care or consideration for people or exceptional circumstances. We appreciate you sign terms and conditions that state you only get a 50% refund if you cancel an Antenatal course 10 days out... But you would think with 2 months notice due to an unplanned change of circumstances would justify at least some consideration. My husband will be changing employment and, unfortunately, we will be moving out of the area. As if having our first baby wasn't stressful enough, now a move away from all family and friends, a total change in lifestyle and routine... And Birthcare just want their $$ Be better birthcare and actually care about people.

Unfortunately wouldn’t recommend Birthcare Parnell. We paid for the private room ($500 per night) which was TINY and my husband had to sleep on a trundler bed in the door way which was stored in the shower during the day. The food was disgusting (cold eggs for breakfast and watery tuna bake for dinner) and the facilities in general were run down with mould growing in the shower area and the decor hadn’t been updated in years. The midwives were amazing however all additional stuff to assist with breastfeeding was locked away over the weekend so we had to feed our baby with a 1ml syringe which caused a lot of distress. There are better facilities around auckland that don’t cost $500 per night. Overall, the stay was extremely disappointing and we regret spending that money as we were expecting a wonderful experience as a new family and it was anything but.

I would like to say a special thank you to two amazing midwives Chelsea and Emily who were amazing support during my two night stay at Birthcare. Both these ladies were supportive and caring during and helped me so much during one of the most difficult moments of my life, i am grateful for the support and level of care these ladies provided. Food was really nice, hospitality staff were not very friendly to deal with. For $500 a night i found the bedrooms very small, and i had to request several times for the housekeeping team to please change bedsheets and empty rubbish.

Highly recommend Birthcare Auckland to expecting mothers and families. I delivered my first child at Birthcare and completed a 3 night post natal stay with my husband. The birthing experience itself was amazing as the center had a large and spacious room for the delivery for just yourself and with a variety of methods to aid in the labour process. We truly found all the staff to be welcoming and very helpful. The midwives especially were absolutely great, had such good knowledge for all mothers and were very easy to approach. We found all the midwives we had to be very understanding and supportive. Such a great birthing experience that I would no doubt return to Birthcare for any following pregnancy.
