   Always get our Chinese from welcome takeaways when I come to Auckland to visit family, on Friday we ordered a dish they don’t normally cook it was beef and broccoli in black bean sauce, it was delicious, I tried making it at home today now that i am back home, lol, nowhere near as good as theirs, I would highly recommend

   I have been coming to this takaway store for over 25 years since I was a child with my family. They chicken fried rice, I would recommend. It is tasty a good size for sharing and not too expensive. The Egg Fu Yong is really yummy too. The sweet and sour pork is a little lite on sauce, so it tends to be dry. It has a nice flavour just

   The service was nice and fast, but unfortunately the curry roll I ordered was not really that nice and it was quite small compared to other ones I've had, it also cost a bit more than said curry rolls. But if you're in a hurry, their service time could probably make up for that.

   Chinese food ok. Worst hamburger ever. You need to learn how to make a proper burger. All I got was a cheap bun, meat patty and limp lettuce leaf. No butter, no sauce, no onion ,no tomato,no beetroot. Used to be great here, but standards have dropped significantly

   Ordered: Fish, sausage, crab stick, nuggets, potato fritters, chips. Chicken fried rice Sweet & sour pork Steak chow mein Everything was cooked perfectly, couldn't find a fault tbh and not sure what the previous bad reviews are but hopefully they can consistently deliver to their customers and increase their rating. Fish and chips were drained well, light Crispy batter around the fish and crab stick what I love to see! They were seasoned well. Fried rice was really good too, didn't grab some of that! And the chow mein was also a treat. I would say the highlight for sure was the sweet and sour pork!!! Crispy fluffy in a perfectly balanced sweet but not too sweet & sour sauce. Absolutely have to put it on your next order! When you order this try to consume it asap to get the best experience, it's probably my fav item on the menu for sure. Its not the glutinous covered small meat, but a deep fried battered sized pork dosed in goodness. Need to try this sweet & sour pork!!!!!

   This place should not have a 4 star rating. I think they may be riding the coattails of a previous owner. :( Yang chow fried rice $17 - container barely full. Light rice clumps - not mixed through very well and not very good flavour where there *is* flavour. Meat mostly dry and tough. Chicken chop suey $14.50 - Once again, barely filled, loosely packed. Very dark, unthickened sauce. Not very appetising. Hoki $3.80 - good flavour but super greasy and easily falling apart. Chips $3.00 - tiny for an Auckland takeaway restaurant. Only 35 chips (that's about 8.5 cents per chip!!! Not big chips either! See pic teaspoon for scale). I did eat the crabs tick or burger which weren't mine. I tried to get through to Sun Ma takeaway, but they stopped taking calls, so we went to my sister's 'usual' Welcome takeaways. I wasn't that impressed by the last food we'd got there, but I acquiesced and figured 'We'll get a couple handfuls of chips each and a piece of fish and there should be a bounty of food, which should be good enough'. I wasn't prepared for this. Go somewhere else - Glenfield Fast Food do a mean fried rice; *great* flavour, well cooked and mixed and the containers are so packed the lid co tours leav an impression in the rice and you're wondering how to get it out without spilling it everywhere. I hope Glenfield Fast Food know how to do a 'takeaway serving' of chips, unlike these MacDonald's sized serves. It wasn't even worth putting tomato sauce on my plate.
